How to ask a local ski shop for a sponsorship

so basicly since i was like 5 i wanted to be sponsered by somebody because i thoughr it was "cool" to be able to get discounted ski gear. The time has come where i would like to become sponsored by my local shop, and be part of the ski industry in a small way. I unfortunatley don't have a camera and therefore no edits to show, but what should i say to them anyway? thanks guys, +k to helpfull answers.

Win some comps and gather attention and then you'll be sponsored... Remember fun comes before sponsors so your objective should be to have fun on skis and not how to get sponsors. Hoped it helped...

depends how serious your ski shop is..

for example: a friend of mine just sent in a letter asking for a sponsorship and he got it right away.
but if your ski shop is really serious about newschool skiing then you are gonna want to get a camera and such

try your best to get a camera but if you cant get one start trying to get noticed at some comps and try and get your name out. and see what you can do with that... good luck!

Ski shops need to know how you repping their gear will influence them in a positive way financially, just tell them how it will. If it wont, you need to try harder. Also skiing is about fun, instead of trying to get a sponsorship just get a job imo...

win comps and make a promo. thats what i did.

i won my shops rail jam, and placed second in the big air. and they told me to get them an edit of myself onetime when i went to the shop, just took that edit in a week ago, waiting to hear back, kinda stoked

if you havnt been shoping and suporting that ski shop for your entire ski career than i wouldnt even try. Get on a first name basis with the employees and try to make friends with the owner. Hang out in the shop every day, and maybe even try to get a job there. like someone above me said you need to be repping there gear and showing how cool that shop is. if you do get sponsored it will probably start with a small discount so be prepaired to spend alot of money at that shop. then over time it could develope into something more.

if you ski comps then try to do well in some of those then youll look good.

if thats not your thing then try to get a really creative edit together, something that hasnt been done a million times.

in my opinion lots of urbans in an edit looks pretty sick. i cant imagine how cool it must look to gapers

stylish, creative urban, the key to sponsorship, everyone can do a 4 out of a park rail, but can you do it more creative (bigger drop, transitions, obstacles). Or just win every comp in the region.

Just keep it real and just talk to them... see what their favorite types of skiing are and so on and so forth. Maybe bring beer and weed cause most in ski shops... those two things are much appreciated... and the main thing is be confident but not arrogant...

Meet te manager, come in and introduce yourself. Ask if his shop is looking into sponsoring any new athletes for the upcoming season. If it's a yes, tell him what your all about, hand him a resume (should contain how you became a skier, why you like skiing, your past results, etc..). Then take it from there.
