amieastcoastyetim new to all of this lingo
what the fuck is a gaper? is it more than just skiers abilty and the gap between your goggles.
It can be used to describe:
Those who take turns almost as wide as the entire hill.
Those who use the lips onto rails as jumps. They will also stand on the landings of jumps and bitch at you if you land on them...lol
Those who have no idea what they are doing on or off the hill
Those with a gaper gap.
Those who are simply clueless.
Those who try to tuck like racers but do it incredibly wrong and point their poles straight up.. it is usually a hilarious sight. I like to call this the Gaper Tuck.

Chubz.hmmmm...they don't look like they're over 100...
Regardless..would i be able to bend them to fit a pair of kartel 106s?
Profahoben_212I bent 95mm brakes to fit my bentchetlers, which are a 123 waist. So yeah it should be possible.
The brakes work quite good too.
Sorry, got sidetracked. I have seen them bent to a max of about 125. Any further after that and the beginning part of the arm would start to catch on the sidewall.

Mine does that on the bentchetlers. Just barely though, and it doesn't effect the performance of the brake.
I could see that going just a tiny bit bigger would start affecting the ride.
I used both affect and effect because I don't know which is which.

Old pivots used to have a pretty stock 78~ brake width for racing skis.

6-15 din range and full metal heels and toes...why dont they bring this back? I use px15s but i just barely fit in the din range at 8.5 and even then its just because i have a small BSL. I would rather have a minimum din of 6

Yeah I don't get it either. I'm okay with the extra weight if the bindings can survive a nuclear holocaust. Hell, if I need to shed some weight off my setup I'll consider buying outerwear that isn't a tent for a family of 4.
connecticuntSo fucking tired but my night terrors and sleep paralysis are back and I'm terrified to go to sleep. This sucks. I don't even have anything to do to keep me up.

hate to disagree. but ive broken 3 pairs of these. And ive never owned a set. just from friends letting me borrow their skis for the day. might just be my luck though. Plus you have to have 98% of the snow off your boot, its ridiculously tough to click in and you cant adjust them.
the old 747 equipe, in my opinion, is 10x better. Everything is metal and adjustable.
plus it doesnt look like you have a dildo trying to reach your ass.
plus you can find them dirt cheap on ebay.

this topic has been beaten to death before on NS and the rules of the mountain state that you're supposed to look before you leap. Just letting ya know before you yell at some gapers for this. It is dumb but the rule makes sense

I'm not disagreeing with you at all, but it's a two way street. Like yeah look before you leap is vital, but it's common sense. If you don't have enough common sense to look at a jump and not understand that it's probably not smart to just hang out in the landing area, then you should probably stay out of the park. I've seen total gapers do it and I've seen some pretty experienced skiers do it and its absolutely moronic.

Yeah, it is definitely dumb to chill on landings. But, naive kids are just that, naive. They do not know better. Being experienced and knowing better means you follow the rules of the hill. So, the person hitting the jump will be at fault for not looking. All I am saying. This topic really has been beaten to death

Yeah you're right..it's a topic for a different thread.
