Finally got a lead on an apprenticeship…supervisor seems cool as shit, likes skiing and riding bikes…turns out one of my homies works there too, so fingers crossed this works out.
Not only did Winter Park Patrol Tryouts go decently well, I finally passed off my remedial Outdoor Emergency Care testing and got my cert officially today. Hell yeah.
They lead me on to think that it was gonna be practice scenarios and then a test at the end when in reality the scenarios were the test and surprised me today and the whole room applauded.

Inb4 you scrub this from your profile in 6 months to un-doxx your workplace again
Someone here once said that “listening to jungle DnB is a cheat code for doing work fast” and they weren’t kidding, I feel like I’ve done 8 hours of work in 2 hours

Dude, fuck yea. I started out with the worship sets as they are banger after banger and not as filthy to listen too. I have got a shit ton of studying done way too efficiently with their mixing.
now when I ski I download dnb allstar 360 sets and its an unmatched vibe.
my boss and his boss walked into my office while i was applying for a different job lol wooops. my lease ends april 30th and i currently dont have another job…. better get on that

SlushSeason"Skiing's Community"
Lmao, dude. They have their own forums, why would they want to come here?
LMAO yeah, forgot about that. although from searching, the closest thing i found to this was r/snowboarding, doesn't seem to be a whole lot of internet community on their part. i don't care, it just occured to me.

snowboardingforum.com
I haven't been there in a while, but it was as "alive" as NS is the last time I was there.
Honestly other social media just killed off most other forums. Reddit is probably the worst offender as it's similar style forum posting.

got an 84 on the first dynamics exam. feels real nice seeing the countless hours i put into studying for each exam finally yielding above average results. this was probably the first time i've ever scored above the class average

Good luck on sorting that.
By the way, where are your balcony and food pictures from your time in UT??

i fucked up. i ended up only taking pictures of signage and other cool safety things other resorts are doing so i can steal their ideas to make my resort a safer place. i dont even have a pic from either of the days that @cre was nice enough to ski with me.
one of the kids on the lift with us did say that all the girls with their baggy clothes look like lesbians and that shit was hilarious. now anytime my gf and i see someone (male or female) in excessively baggy pants and a fitted jacket we say ‘oh look a lesbian’
other than that, skied all 8 days at 5 different resorts and it was a rad time. cottonwoods terrain is dope but fuck that drive. i peed in a cup because of traffic and my gf was not stoked lol she was gagging. also, the culture in slc is so much different than what im used to living in ski towns. im used to the entire economy running on skiing and tourism and people on vacation vs the normie lifestyle of living in a city with outdoor hobbies. i would potentially like to move there but probably more aligned with moving to steamboat, mammoth, jackson or another larger ski town.
0___Is it steezy eater. I blocked his ass cuz he’s a loser and lame asf
you blocked yeet even though they have def come around to posting about skiing and clips but you didnt block florida man who you constantly get in childish bickering fits with, doesnt even hit the park, and lacks overall creativity when creating a screename??

What the fuck is up with signage these days. So many fucking signs at any merge point, slow signs everywhere, exits signs telling me I'm leaving the terrain park. The first two I can understand in a limited capacity here and there but the last one makes no sense to me. At what point do you need a sign to tell people to be aware of signs?

Fair enough and hope you do make your resort a safer place.
SLC is different for sure, guess I grew up with that being the norm but it is weird for sure now that I have lived all around now. Im headed over there next week to meet family and friends to ski there and planning on hitting Jackson and Targhee as well.

theres 2 main groups that read signs: people new to an area and jurors lol. nsaa has said post covid we have seen ‘nuclear verdicts’ this is where jurors are awarding individuals millions of dollars as a way to stick it to businesses. the general sense is that doing bare minimum by the law has not held up in court and people expect companies to put in every measure so that consumers are assuming no risk when using their services. this doesn’t work with a sport like skiing that has inherent dangers but alas its the way of the US right now. weve even seen completely fabricated accusations from dates that people weren’t even at the resort and you can’t even get them for fraud for creating a baseless lawsuit. the court system is kinda fucked tbh.
also, there has been tremendous growth in the ski industry which brings a lot of oblivious people to the sport that then mangle themselves and then sue. not to say resorts are perfect and there have definitely been been legitimate claims and those should be paid out but the amount of ignorance and lawsuits being introduced based on things that should be protected by the governing laws has seemingly skyrocketed and therefore so has signage around the resort lol

Nasty food poisoning from Taco Bell 2 weeks ago, I still can barely process any food (basically have only eaten crackers and bananas) and I’m down 15 lbs. I went to urgent care yesterday and the NP just said “idk” and sent me on my way with a nausea medication prescription. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Asset and liability protection, baby. The name of the game sadly for most patrollers. It's 75% protecting the company from dipshits with lawyers and 25% actual helping people sometimes sadly. We literally threw tower and lightpost pads on other pads at my workplace just for the extra CYA among all things.
