Yeah, Arizona is one of the weirdest places to have an ice hockey team.. Even weirder that the team originally moved from Winnipeg, which is one of the coldest places.
The team will probably move to KC or QBC... Houston is doubtful at this stage because the Rockets own the arena and they'd simply be a tenant unless they sold NHL ownership stakes to the Rockets ownership.
Ive always thought Milwaukee should be host to an NHL franchise, given Wisconsin is a huge hockey state and it would provide a great natural rival to both Minnesota and Chicago (and to a lesser extent, Winnipeg) but I also guess the Blackhawks would try really hard to not have a competitor there, as they claim Milwaukee as their 'home away from home' or whatever. It seems more likely than Houston though, given the Bucks don't actually own the arena but they lease it, rather.
Still... I really don't like the idea of anyone losing their team... (especially given I'm likely to lose my MLB team to fucking horseshit Vegas) I don't follow Arizona hockey but I'm sure there's some folks down there who'd be pretty fuckin disappointed - and already are disappointed with how poorly that team has been run for the most part...

ReturnToMonkeyNah ice rinks don't take an absurd amount of water, plus they already have ice rinks. The big environmental cost is power to keep it cold and they are already cold a lot of the season. Both the water and power costs would be nowhere near the same as the city the team would hypothetically move from, Phoenix. So really it would be an environmentally friendly move, depending how they built the stadium/what they did with the Phoenix one. I support it.
I feel you, but at the same time when 100% of your state is affected by drought, and the great salt lake is going through “an ecological collapse” it kinda seems frivolous to decide to build a new NHL stadium.

Did a little math, it takes about 15k gallons to fill a rink on the high side. Snowmaking at Arapahoe basin alone, a relatively small ski area where most terrain is natural snow, uses approx. 17 million gallons of water a year. That is more than 1,100 ice rinks worth of water.
Yeah it's not a 'necessary' use or whatever but an entire sheet of ice takes less than a year's worth of lawn watering worth of water

That's fair actually. I read a couple articles and both talked about bringing it to Vivint, but that's already used by the Jazz so idk how easy it would be to juggle those two overlapping seasons in one arena. Plus wouldn't the stadium need a bunch of renovation to actually be able to host both teams like that?
Idk, it could work I guess. I'd just rather see a place like Quebec City get a team since they actually have the climate geared towards better supporting an NHL team. Why people who live in a desert state want an NHL team so badly is beyond me, but if they really think it would have any significant positive impact on the state then by all means they should go for it I guess.

We're kind of hurting for good youngish mainstream pop stars they don't exactly grow on trees. Is there even anyone to compare her to? A generation ago you had Whitney, Mariah, Janet Jackson these days Taylor Swift is the only game in town. Her songs are good enough and better than 'wet ass pussy' and she plays for 3 hours and has a lot of them. I'd like to go for 100-200 bucks.

Last summer I was supposed to take the chick I was seeing to Bad Bunny but didn't because it was too expensive 90% of the crowd there probably worked minimum wage jobs yet spent 500 to see him in a baseball stadium. Bad Bunny is only really popular within spanish speaking people which is a shit ton. I couldnt name any of his songs, just another massive reggaeton artist that i couldn’t really give a fuck about. The repetitiveness of Latin drum beats annoys the shit out of me but they probably think the same thing about our music.

That's what I mean by implications. Violating our rights in a very hard to debate way. However if I had to choose only one way for the govt to Infringe on our rights, it would be banning an app which I believe is very anti productive to society and influences other social media platforms to become worse, too. This ranges from highly addictive traits targeted at young people (cough like tobacco companies cough) to aggressive and annoying advertising tactics.

I understand their concern, but I think there’s bigger problems than an app owned by a chinese company. Banned on govt devices? sure whatever. But why ban it on normal devices? Honesty just feels like a china anxiety fueled boomer decision.

Professor is having us do an analysis on the epic of Gilgamesh, but the catch is it has to be 300 words or less.
It would seem easy, but writing to the level of depth that this dude expects while compressing it to under 300 words is actually kinda hard. You have to be so precise and straight forward, and you don’t have room to elaborate much so it has to be concise and easy to follow af.
kinda fun though ngl, really teaches you how to get to the point while still thinking critically, basically just cuts out all the fluff of a normal essay.

ending Regents english with a 97 after the teacher told me i’d never amount to anything because i’m handed everything in life and gifted so i don’t have to try in school. Got a 95 on the regents exam and taking a DE gen ed english next year. Imo critical responses or writing is fun idky it gets sm hate in highschool
