No.QuarterDrunkenly straightlining south facing refrozen avalanche blasting debris might not have been the best call at the moment. Ouch
DeebieSkeebiesRebuilt a classic booter that fucking SENDS and you can lap all day @titus. Elephant Trunk is back in business. Phatty threes to the moon for days
Titus69Gimme that location, I’ve taken some normal laps lately and fuck at least within an hour unless it’s a hike I can’t get into nice zones close to send like in the cottonwoods, it’s like fucking around on my old NH shithole. Is it off jupe or something?
DeebieSkeebiesThat steep blueslip bomber, go left at the side and nuke ass down the groomer and duck left, youll see it as you come over the crest. Fuckin awesome moto style jump. Yuuge threes and even backies.
safarisamSkied the best I have in a year yesterday, only to nearly pass out on my tour today. May have worked myself a bit too much. Guess I'm not sled skiing tomorrow, gotta let the body heal. I can't believe my ankle is still giving me trouble 7 months out.

Titus69If there wasn’t a guest who’s leaving today still up with him I would have blasted him, instead I thanked him for my 3 hours of sleep. I’m never living with college drunks again.

Titus69Yeah I’ve been watching snow since I got to work, weird seeing more than 4 hours of constant snowfall lately.
DeebieSkeebiesSame. Boy was the sun nice for a while though.
Pretty good man, ngl. Soft skiing at least. Bowls/faces are pretty chewed and you can still scrape the bottom but its pretty fun out there. The kids were stoked today.
Got tailed by two yellow jackets on our last lap down to the base today haha. What a bunch of kooks. I yelled at my kids "Dont be dumb, Theres yellow jackets behind us" and boooooy they did not like that so I skied behind my group like a cattleman herding cattle. We let them go ahead of us because there wasnt anything they could stop us for. They posted up at some slow signs and we skied right past them and boy, they looked pissed as all hell. They do not like ski teams one bit at all.
What a bunch of fucking losers though, honestly. Yellow jackets are scum. These pieces of shit wait for coaches to get ahead of their groups so they can then stop their kids without the coach knowing about it. Its so fucking scummy.

MinggI got a call from a casting director today. He’s interested in coaching me and invited me to work with him (what the actual fuck) Super shocked but also can’t really turn it down. I told him that I’m in nursing school for a year and have a full time job and he said that he would make it work. I don’t know what I did but I’m stoked!
Profahoben_212Casting for what?
And don't sit on a black couch
cydwhitMan. I really, really dislike fatbiking. So much. So stupid. To the point where I talked some folks into helping me clear out the whole dj line at the local bike park. Can't fricking wait to ski in the morning and ride dirt after.
CLQFat biking was a stupid, dumb fad and I’m surprised that fat bike manufacturers are still around
cydwhitBlarg. As much as I hate fat biking, it’s really not a fad. It totally has its place, I completely understand why some people are so into it, and as we start to deal with climate change it’s only going to make more sense. At least around here, fat biking is growing rapidly with more people doing it and more events every winter. And that’s really cool, and I’ll continue to groom our local fat bike single track because more opportunities for people to ride bikes are a good thing.
But that doesn’t change the fact that I enjoy it much less than skiing or mountain biking, and I really only do it to tire my dog out.
No.QuarterI think the biggest hurdle for getting into fat biking for me is that who the fuck want's to ride a bike with XC geometry these days? I can't stand the hunched over position so I think if I were to make the investment in a winter trail bike i would get a hardtail with good geometry that can fit like a 3" studded tire. There aren't many dedicated fat bike trails around me and most of my winter riding is just commuting and riding on trails that get a lot of traffic so riding a beater singlespeed with decent mtb tires (currently running a 2.5 WTB Breakout and 2.6 Schwalbe Nobby Nic with cushcore xc) at low pressure is good enough for me. I think winter riding is a serious test of willingness to stay on the bike. Luckily my commute is only like 2 miles each way and this winter has been pretty mild for lunch break cruises around town trails, but I've eaten shit so many times on ice and gone through two different bottom brackets already.

safarisamI fell on Pete’s hill today.
cydwhitIf you're not dealing with groomed or snowmobiled trails, if you're just riding icy stuff in town, you're better off with a studded tire from Walmart than a nice 2.5" Even a full fat bike tire doesn't have great traction on ice, you need studs more than volume.
All that to say, summer can't come soon enough.
cydwhitif you're just riding icy stuff in town
CLQAlta was fun today, sad I have to leave
BigPurpleSkiSuitFuck I was at alta yesterday!
