Every Sunday my dad makes me bacon, two sunny side up eggs from free-range chickens, two pieces of toast, and Nesquik chocolate milk. First I start of by putting two puncture wounds in either egg with the blunt end of my knife. Then when the yolk is properly distributed across the bacon and toast, I finish the remains of the egg. After that, I eat half of one piece of bacon, then with the remaining one and a half pieces I create a bacon and toast sandwich, when the sandwich is created, I distribute the left over yolk juices from the egg over the sandwich. When that's all done I take one sip from my chocolate milk and then eat the sandwich. After that I drink the glass of milk and go back to sleep.

-blend the previous ing. together.

in a different bowl:

2 1/2 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt


-blend
-gradually add dry ing. (second list) to moist ing. (first list), mix until smooth.
-pour into GREASED 8x10 pan


in third bowl:

1/3 c. melted butter
3/4 c. chopped nuts (i suggest pecans)
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

this is your topping, sprinkle it over the batter you just poured into the pan.

-bake in oven at 350 degrees for 55-65 minutes depending on your oven. poke a couple times with a toothpick to check it.

Food threads are legit.

I'm all about sandwiches--pretty much get all of the food groups in one awesome thing:

two slices whole grain bread--one spread with pesto, the other with mayo
bunch of sliced turkey
couple slices extra sharp white cheddar (hunter's sharp from cabot preferably)
cucumber slices
tomato slices
bunch of fresh crispy lettuce

side of soup (homemade if I have it cause i rarely buy it at the store unless its ramen)
chocolate milk

For dinner I like to make a chicken breast if I have the time to really do it right:
Cooked chix breast (grilled, fried, baked, whateva)
Sauce:
white wine
dijon mustard
taragon
garlic
onions
thyme
(might be forgetting something, but that's pretty close)

side of heady salad

Everyone should know how to cook at least one dish really well. It's really not that hard and totally worth it.

This is a super dank sandwich at the restaurant I work at:
carne asada
avocado
queso fresco
on a hoagie

comes with chilaquiles sauce (liquid/pureed salsa with a good kick to it) absorbed into the hoagie is soooo good
side of radish salad--shredded radishes, 2 kinds of cabbage shredded and a tomatillo-lime vinaigrette
perfect refresher/reliever from the spice of the sandwich/chilaquiles

doener kebab is possibly the dankest food on the face of this fucking planet, when i was in germany i ate it as much as possible and that combo you made sounds delish for sure.

Because I was busy eating.



I never really measure the ingredients, but I make three cheese tortellini with cream cheese, heavy cream, curry powder, garlic salt, olive oil, and sometimes a little bit of coriander. It's delicious.

OH AND my mom makes this watermelon salad that's reaaally good.

Watermelon balls, Mozzarella balls, basil, balsamic vinegar. There might be more in there but I think that's about it.

I came repeatedly throughout this thread.. foodgasms.

My favourite sandwich goes something like this:
aioli
grilled chicken
redpeppers
spinach
provolone

then I put it in a panini press and bazinga... tasty

whatever that Dutch creation is... that looks amazing. One day I plan on visiting family in Rotterdam, hopefully I can afford it next summer for a week or two.

so i'm bumping this thread to share my new favorite breakfast food....

2 eggs
3/4 c. milk
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. oil
1 tbsp. vanilla
1/3 c. brown sugar
1 c. to 1 1/4 c. flour


beat eggs until they're fluffy, then add the rest of the listed ingredients in the order i listed.

slice bread into relatively thick (3/4") pieces and quickly dip bread in batter covering both sides.

cook on a well greased skillet at a medium heat for 2 to 2.5 minutes on each side.

butter up then cover with syrup and your favorite fruit.
