Skiing Tricks on the Diving Board

it is summer time and i want to learn how to swim (embarrassing i know) and learn some new tricks that i can take to snow next year. i thought i would kill two birds with one stone and head out to the local diving boards. if you know how to do any of the following tricks:

-corks
-bios
-mistys
-rodeos
-flats
-lincoln loops
-gainers

it would be greatly appreciated if you could list out the steps to performing it. i will provide karma to those who provide assistance.

Just do it. I used to get bitched at by my coach all the time during practice. Diving is all about staying all straight and dumb. If you go off axis you get a shitty score. In practice we were trying all kinds of double corks, even some triples.

JESUS I MUST BE REALLY GOOD THEN.

AND I THROUGH SOME CORKS TODAY AT THE POOL WITH BGOULD, SO CORKS ARE POSSIBLE IF I CAN DO THEM.

UPDATE: BGOULD CAN MISTY 5 OFF THE 3M AND 1M BOARD, AND FRONT FLIP AND BACKFLIP OFF THE 1M BOARD

If you're just learning to swim I would say don't worry about flipping into the pool, worry more about not drowning. When you do any of these jumps you're going to go pretty far underwater and if you're a novice smimmer you might freak out when you're not brewthing air for an extended period of time. Also if your trying all these flips chances are you're going to end up underwater in some weird position at least once, and i'd imagine it would be traumatic. I'm not trying to he all don't do that shit, but learn how swim before you try to dub cork 10 into a pool.

ANY TIPS FOR DUB MISTY 9S? I AM DOING MISTY 5S OFF THE 3M AND HAVE PLENTY OF TIME FOR ANOTHER INVERT. THE ONLY ADVICE I WAS GIVEN IS TO STAY TUCKED AND THE SECOND INVERT WILL COME AROUND? IS THAT ALL THERE IS TO THE TRICK?

take a running jump on the diving board, bounce higher, huck harder and stay tucked longer. thats all it takes.

Most of the things you listed are possible on a diving board. The most basic is probably the reverse or gainer: just jump really high and use the movement of your arms (bring them over your head) to create the rotation then just kick out of it. With corks you should try it standing backwards and do it like you would on a tramp by spinning after looking behind your shoulder. Lincoln loops are easy I like to get a running start then jump as high as I can, grab my knees and focus my eyes on a poit in front of me while dropping one side to rotate. Those are good ones to start with.

learn front flips and back flips, learn spins (anything over 540 is tough because you can't get the right rotation on a diving board unless you're high up, then try making an initial jump, spinning 90 degrees and landing on the diving board for the actual jump itself, then you can do lincolns WAY easier, and you can throw rodeos as well as double rodeos and even flats.

also if you make the jump from that sideways position, it's easier to spin because you can wind up better with your legs.
