Stop hating on FD!

Personally I do not see why there is so much hate on first drop. The stuff that they make actually keeps you warm unlike saga. Also it doesn't fray on the zippers at all. I have owned three first drop jackets and I have not had a problem. Last years first drop held up better than last years saga by far. Also with saga you are paying 280 for a shell and with first drop you are paying 280 for a full on jacket. Also the zip off sleeves are perfect for warm weather skiing. Overall I feel that there is to much hate on first drop.

sparknotes: Fd is warm and doesn't fray like saga, also is a vest which is money efficient.

whatev i havent had a problem with my FD gear all season and my friend's Saga is falling apart. i dont care what people say i think both companies are dope i just think people hating on FD before owning some are just ignorant

A jacket isn't supposed to keep you warm with nothing under it. It's supposed to keep the wind and water out. LAYERING. Ever heard of it? It makes jackets much more versatile.

well yes and no, I ski most of of times in temps like -20
celsius and I quite enjoy not having to wear 10 layers under my jacket.. I think it's a personal choice

Exactly. I love my insulated jacket. Better for not feelings all puffy under it. I have owned shells and insulated, I like both, its all preference, neither is better than another.

I still can't get over FD essentially calling waterproofing ratings a crock. What better way to entice Northwesterners into buying your gear? And seriously, everyone knows that a shell is functionally superior to an insulated jacket. You know, I'm all for FD and independent companies, but when any manufacturer messes up that badly, it's time for them to take a new direction. So FD should recommit themselves to quality, produce 20k/20k shells, and reemphasize the importance of other quality softgoods. These are areas in which Saga has shown leadership and FD has failed miserably.

Orage, moment, northface, saga, helly hanson, oakley, burton, salomon > first drop.

I'm most excited for next year's moment, and orage.

Moment is coming out with a jacket similar to the jiberish grand cru jackets and i'm stoked on it. I'm also stoked on their baseball jacket.

Orage IMO is one of the best outwear companys along with northface. Suppior quality, and the best designs. The Retalack jacket is godly.



I'm open to first drop and all. But they think they are going to be the holister of skiing. That everyone that skis, is going to want it. I mean first drop shoes? are you kidding me? They need to stick to jackets and pants for now. And shipping. I could do a better job on a bike
