Wondering how suny plattsburgh is?
anyone go here im transferring into the business and finance program next year as a junior. really dont want to go here but cause of money i have to. Heard that academically it really isn't that up to par and I was wondering what the people who go there thought. I got into much better schools but can't go because of money. But if academically it kinda sucks im going to suck up some debt and hopefully get a better job out of college.

Looking for how people feel about plattsburgh. I personally feel that academically it really doesn't excel enough to give you an edge in the job world today. But its so god dam cheap to go there. Its a win lose situation.

well I don't actually go there so that might discredit my thoughts, but I've visited and have friends that go there. Essentially, Plattsburg is lacking academically, but if you like to get fucked up, welcome home..

A small SUNY school in the heart of Plattsburgh, NY, a small north country town on Lake Champlain about 20 minutes away from the border (and a really "awesome" bar called The Rocket, where you can get some coke with that Molson). Nearly every student enrolled, except for the copious amounts of Japanese exchange students, had Plattsburgh as about number six on their list of schools they wished to attend. Then, they either got lazy or didn't get into any other school they applied to. So they came to Plattsburgh State University becuase if you could write your name on the application you were in. This led to the massive influx of freshmen in the fall of 06, leading to really lame parties and no parking spaces for anyone. In past years, it was actually really fun. Then all the fun people left. Over the years, it has gotten progressively lamer. When students get really bored of the lameness, they take a trip to Montreal and realize how shitty their life is. This is usually compensated for by heavily drinking at least 5 days out of the week and smoking ones self stupid, then going downtown to get Pizza Bonos. Homework is rarely done, not because of laziness, but because this is Plattsburgh.
for some reason, the administrators changed the name to Plattsburgh State University College in 05. why the repetativeness? no one knows.
One of the qualities a Plattsburgh State student must have is a deep, penetrating hatred for ones self and a want to either jump off of the Kehoe ad...

Well, I have one friend who goes there, of course for money reasons, but she enjoys it. She also doesn't stick around on the weekends.

Platts is a good fucking time if you like to party
Go across the lake to champlain or uvm if you can afford it, better college atmosphere. But like someone already said, college is what you make it.

It was in the late 90's early 00's, now, it sucks. The police force cracked down on parties, so there are very few. Not like it matters: all of the parties that do happen are a charade of intoxicated Long Islanders that's painful to watch and depressing to participate in.
Plattsburgh's party days are way, way over.
