Ways to get over a cold QUICKLY?

My prom is tomorrow, and I'm solidly sick. Runny nose, sore throat, overall stuffiness. Thankfully there hasn't been too much coughing so far but slowly starting to hack more and more. No fever at this point though, fingers crossed.

I'm organizing both our Prom and After Prom, and my date's coming in from a town about 3 hours drive away from mine so obviously I don't want to be a mess for it. I've accepted that I'll be somewhat sick, but if anyone knows a way to quickly get over a cold/flu or at least suppress symptoms effectively I would be forever in debt.

I've been taking a ton of Vitamin C and drinking water like it's the end of the world. I've been taking Cold FX Extra Strength for a bit but if it's been doing it's work I haven't noticed. Any ideas?

Under the tongue off brand zicam melt tablets. Gotta take one every three hours like it says though. I'm usually not a believer in that shit but I'd put all my money on that stuff.

drugs only suppress the side effects of your body attempting to rid the cold. Your body purposely creates these, and though they may be uncomfortable, they do their job. If you want to rid it quickly take some immune boosters and eat/drink healthy and sleep.

Buy some airborne and just take it like every hour with a glass of water. this has always helped me. ton of vitmains. just make sure you keep taking it. hope that helps

Airborne only works if you feel you might be coming down with a cold. Massive doses of vitamin C aren't taken up by your body anyways, so pumping yourself full of OJ and Emergen-C doesnt really do much. Way more important to:

-Stay hydrated
-Rest
-Eat a ton of food, erring on the side of healthy

Last boxing day I was sick, took like 10g of vitamin c (20 or so of the 500mg tablets) puked that night and was good to go the next day (except I decided to sleep all day).

concentrated liquid oregano is another home remedy, as well as acidophiles

I drink lemon juice diluted with water. IDK what id does but it always settle my stomach if your nauseous

Zicam works wonders I kid you not. 1 every three hours and you're positivity going to feel better in the morning. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE WARNINGS ON THE LABEL!! specifically the one that says not to eat fruit/fruit juice or anything citrus or acidic for 30 mins before or after you take them because when it says it will result in a mild upset stomach, it means more of an hour long I want to go to bed because i feel so shitty, so don't talk to me and leave me the fuck alone type of stomach ache. It really sucks and took me two days of zicam and OJ in school to realize it. Just stick to drinking a lot of water and on prom day, take only one in the morning and right before you leave to pick up your date take a tylenol or advil, and bring another for when it wears off that night.

I had the same thing a week ago and i usual get over being sick pretty quick but seriously it took me 2 weeks to get better, hopefully the same isnt for you. I recommend vitamin c and nyquil/dayquil. Goodluck!

drink orange juice and pop vitamin c pills like theres no tomorrow. Drink a lot and flush that shit out of you.

and to the person who said nyquil, doesn't that just cover it up and knock you out so you can sleep, not actually make you better?

I had a cold from about monday-thursday.
I drank ALOT of water! im talking like 2-3 gallons a day.
Sleep!
Had a couple glasses of oj every day.
Oh and i put electrolyte stuff in my water.

Just rest, drink water, and eat healthy!
