McDonalds a Good First Job?

I am 15 and I was just wondering if Mcdonalds would be a good place for my first job. One of the main reason I want to work there is because I wont be driving until next year, and I could walk there within 5 min this summer.
Basically, I just want to know your guys working experiences at Mcdonalds and if it would be a good place for my first job.

Like do you still eat mcdonalds, or do you get sick of it? and is it good for my first job and a 15 year old.

its probably the only job youll be able to get at 15, if u want a really good one for next year take a ski instructors course?

probably the best job ever is working in a ski store, but they probably wont hire you till your like 16

I have a couple friends that work at Mac Dons, they dont like it but they say its a pretty good first job. But hey, Money is money.

great first job.

they have some of the best training in the business.

go for it. better than scrubbing dishes in the back of some restaurant at 15.

at 15, take what you can get. Also, if you really want a job, you need to fill out an application very soon, most college students are home by now (they usually take the summer jobs). Good Luck!

Alright and thanks, yeah I think im gonna apply for a ski instructor job, even though I don't know if I can handle going 2 miles an hour on a "hill" for 2 hours with a bunch of 7 year olds. xD

lol it has its fun moments. try doing what ur teaching them to do switch, it makes it easier to watch them and within a year of teaching like that youll be able to kill it switch, i got way more confident that way. and it is so rewarding teaching them stuff like there first 180s and 360s, they are soooo stoked when they land anything

Yeah that actually sounds pretty good, at least I'll be able to be on skis, and getting paid for doing it! But yeah, and tht sounds like a nice way to do it (get used to skiing switch as good as normal(?) lol.

my first (job) was umpiring baseball when i was like 15-16. 15 bucks a game, could get in like 2-3 games a night. not bad. plus, i got to hang out at the ball diamond all night. i'd bike there, chill, get some slushies in between games, and hang out with friends that lived around afterward. yeahhhh like as a 16 year old was sick. in fact, i was probably even younger than that. maybe 14-15. and reffing t-ball is CAKE. the kids just fall around and play in the dirt any way. hah.

but my first job where i worked full time and had duties and a contract and shit was when i was 18 working at a summer camp as a counselor. i just babysat kids, took them swimming, out on the boat to wakeboard, into the gym for trampoline lessons and that sort of thing, and then was with them for meals and put them to bed at night. wasn't bad. it's hard work keeping track of a group of 9-10 year old boys who just want to run all over the place, but i got 3grand for 8 weeks of chilling and doing a bunch of outdoorsy activities with kids. cant complain. and when i was there, i had nowhere to spend the money, so getting a big fat check at the end of it all was sick. and i hooked up with another one of the counselors there too, so i had someone to fool around with in my off time. twas a good summer. people hated me cause i was so rowdy with them too. i was like the HOLY SHIT FUN guy and always got the evil eye from the goodie two-shoes counselors. hah.

true story. then after that, i worked in sports stores, restaurants, and now im 25 and working on a summer contract for the government. it's basically just administrative shit that pays well, and i make my own hours. and i work from my buddy's home office. half the time we play games and fuck around and just take calls and sort shit. fuck i love the chain of command. the drones slave away for nothing, and we supervise and get paid a ton more to oversee things and monitor and do admin shit.

might as well. You don't have to do it for the rest of your life or anything. But work there, do a good job, then you'll have job experience to apply toward the next place, or if you like it try to work your way up there.

im surprised that they would hire a 15 year old. but yeah thats a good first job take what ever comes your way. if you arent happy then look for another job (dont quit) and when you fin another work there and quit at Mcdonalds

Lol, but I was gonna umpire until i found out you have to go to an umpire clinic to ump, which I did last year, but you have to go to every year I guess, kind of stupid, and i missed it this year. =/. But yeah ill try to bride them hah. ill look for other jobs like mowing lawn, but ill probably just apply at mcdonalds, and ill probably get the job because the manager used to be my neighboor.

like someone above, i also umpired baseball as my first job. do you really need the money? you are only 15, enjoy your childhood. you will have plenty of time to work later in life. if for some reason you really need cash, i would probably make mcds my last choice. the money is shit and i cannot see the work being any better.

instead try to volunteer somewhere interesting so when you are a bit older you can potentially work there. i volunteered at a hospital for a summer and ended up getting a job there a year later. now i make a good amount of money and get to see some cool shit.

my buddy worked at a mc d's and he moved up the ladder he has been a manager for a year and is doing it til he goes off to college in the fall he enjoys it. if you have any sort of military base near you though try and get a manual labor job there. i worked at airforce bases as a civilian and you make way more than minimum wage and you can rank up and get more money. so i worked at an office on a base and made 12.26 the next summer i worked on a base digging holes basically and made 14.40 an hour worked 40 hours a week for both made fucking bank

the days im teaching i wouldnt get to go anyways because i dont have any ride to a mountain those days and the ski school buses me down so at least im skiing

caddying is a pretty good summer job especially if youre interested in golf. make $60 a time, free food, and you get to play the course on mondays

do it, its money plus you could probably keep it for most of the year and take 3 months off in the winter. Also it teachs you about basic things, and its good for social interaction

Depending on where you're from, corn pollination/detasseling might be a good idea. It's only during the summer and not very long but it's a pretty chill job where i work. You just paperclip bags n shit. Only problem is keeping your focus after doing the same thing all day.

try seasonal places like community pools snackbar/ lifeguard, amusement parks. water parks( i have been working at my local water park in the summer since i was 15 and work about 30-35 hours a week)

I worked McD's when I was 16 and it was pretty tight. usually flexible hours, you're damn busy the whole time so it always flys by and its kinda fun trying to see how quick you can pump out orders. Meet cool people and So many hilarious moments as well

I worked for my town at our pool club doing maintenance when i was 15-17. It was easy but boring. I couldn't find anywhere else to work so i took what i could get. At 15 you'll be lucky to get a job anywhere really. Now i work in a restaraunt. In the future if you have the ability to put down something in the food industry on your resume you could start landing way more jobs 16-20's. Restaraunts look for that

heres my two cents/words of wisdom: MOW LAWNS! seriously. my brother owns a lawn mowing company that i work for and of course he has like 60 lawns cuz its a big business..but ten lawns a week for one person, number one: not hard at all, number two: basically choose when you work, number three: thats about two hundred a week when lawns pay roughly 20 each. and people will pay good.

great first job mate. great training and i hear alot of companies like to take guys on that used to work at mcas. Teaches you alot about team work. i've worked there for 4 years. probs a bit long but money is money. Also they give you the opporunity to do certificate courses in retail opporations which is a plus

i would definitely go for it. i kind of wish that i had gotten a job in the food industry when i was younger and worked my way up the ladder. i would really like to work in a kitchen at a nice restaurant now, but since i have no experience that ain't happenin unless i'm washing dishes or bussing tables. so i would go for it. it's always nice to have spending money.

if you want to start at the shittiest job out there, apply at mcdonalds. i have friends who worked there and they hated it there. sure the hours are flexible but man, you can do so much better. apply at restaurants, grocery stores, etc. first you got the managers who bitch 23/7 and during that one hour, they are on their break. the crazy ass customers who want their food immediately and then the grease. since your a guy, you may not find it that bad but you will get sick of it. just think of it this way, you wont be able to wheel while working there. btw they pay minimum wage = shittt. sure money is money, but its your choice. g luck

this. There is a reason that McDondalds is the most successful fast food company in the world (Well, Subway now, in America). It's their training and their 'assembly line'. It's only for the summer and if you don't like it you can apply for another job next year with a solid company on your resume. Be sure to get in good with a manager. Recommendations are essential in landing your next job.
