Really strong psilocybin experience...

Good morning NS, Nothing like having a crazy weekend and coming on here for the first time to tell you guys all about it. I would like you guys to tell me in your opinion what the HELL happened to me after you read this story.

So, Friday was senior skip day at my local high school, and one of my buddies was having some people over at his house. I had bought some mushrooms the night before, and planned on taking them during the day at some point if the weather was nice. They were white with some black and orange on them, they were unlike any cap i've seen before in my whole life, yet the person who i got them from was a legit source. He told me and warned me that they were really serious mushrooms, but i am usually not one to be scared or back down to a trip. So.. I went to my buddies house where i got fed a bunch of champagne with OJ (first time drinking in over 2 months).

I guess i should have known that the combination of mushrooms and being drunk would not hang over too well. An half an hour or so after i left my friend tommys house i decided to eat the mushrooms up, probably a bad drunk decision. From there, some other freinds and I decided to take a blunt ride and go to a chill spot by the lake. This is went it when downhill for me.

Kids earlier in the day were talking about a "bad trip". I've got my numbers and i've got my true experience and i didnt think anything of this... Well... We make our way up to this picnic bench, when my stomach starts to turn. I know this is usually just from the aniexty of coming up on shrooms, but being drunk with it was not pretty.

All of the sudden, i started hearing ringing in my ears and i felt really nautious. I told myself it was all coming at once, and it was REALLY INTENSE. I lost my train of thought, i started to freak out and look at everyone in a weird way, and they could tell something was wrong. Alls i kept saying was "Help me, please help me". I threw up twice in a garbage can and then i put my head down. My freinds were telling me i was pale white and asking me if i was okay. I didnt even respond to them, or even acknowledge what they were saying. I put my head down and looked at my finger nails and they were turning bright purple and green. All of the sudden i put a little more effort into putting my head up, And EVERYTHING around me was bright crystal white. This was a fucking crazy hallucination.

Right when i thought it was over, i passed out. I woke up to my freinds yelling at me and alls i remember saying was how long was that for? I was unresponsive and unconcious for about 20-25 minutes with my eyes completely open, and i don't remember any of it. My face was all sweaty, i'll admit it i was a hot mess. My freinds told me that they were lifting me up and taking my pulse because they were scared for me, and i don't even recall of it? at all? Once i pulled myself back to reality, i had a beautiful day. But for that 20 minutes it was bad vibes that i never want to experience again.

Thoughts?

so basically i have 3 things for you and im an experienced psychedlic and ethniogen user.

1) i drink everytime before i trip not drunk just like 3-5 shots to be buzzed and get my nerves down so im not all freaky. But i do know too little alcohol and your mind will run and be more emotional but not necesarily a bad thing i just prefer the enhancement of the alcohol. but when the ony thing in your belly is lots of alcohol and your drunk its not a good thing and id say 50% of the time youll puke and have a weird time, puking is scary on shrooms. Finally if youre drunk enough yu wont remember what trip you had if it was bad or good and there is something to say in that.

2. If these caps were in fact black with white they probably werent psilocybin but rather a form of fly agaric mushroom usually a red cap with white spots but can be a dark blood red and when dry they can be black. fly agaric give you a cheap drunk feel and again about 50% of the time youll get more of the food poisoning experience tacked on with an odd shroom trip unlike a psilocybin. Psilocybin caps are small rounded brown caps with long skinny stems (they look like dicks)

3) Please dont let this experience stop you from using mushrooms or psychedelics this sounded like youre head was in the right place you just got sick on a belly full of booze. I'm sorry this happened but i hope the rest of your trip was awe inspiring and i hope you continue to experiment and see the world with a new set of eyes again

Not all mushrooms are the same. For example you're standard cubensis vs something like the fly argeric.



Just because it's organic doesn't mean it's as good for your body as a glass of milk but it doesn't mean it's bad for you really.

If you eat the wrong species of mushroom you will most definitely die a horrible death. Be careful, personally I would spore print everything I put in my mouth. being "natural" has nothing to do with it...

I agree with you. I generally drink while I'm tripping. I mean I'd probably drink anyway, but I'm def super relaxed as shit starts getting more intense.


Totally agree on the fly ageric thing. Some mushrooms you will trip more just from toxins fucking with your body in a negative way. Like nutmeg tea for instance. I've never ingested anything but different psilocybin mushrooms. Always new it was from a reputable source and a lot of times I actually new the source so I new what strain they were and how good they were.

Actually fly agaric is similar to psilocybin in that it is an antagonist for a receptor (GABA), blocking neurotransmitters, or neurons from communicating with each other, it just binds to a different receptor. I think it would be awesome to see what tripping on muscimol would feel like, and its legal. It is poisonous at a high dose though, you would have to eat a lot.

yo chill, you were dumb enough to think your to tough to be phased by getting wasted then taking shrooms. A mixture of your sub-conscious considering bad trips and your anxiety about the effect of mixing alcohol and shrooms made you trip out like that. We all have bad trips and usually worse so chill

If I am making sense of your post...I have HPPD. Straight up. Become full blown after eating mushrooms. Static on walls, tracers when I move my hand in front of my face.

Do your research on erowid, talk to any HPPD expert (I had to go to the UW hospital because of it), psilocybin is a definite catalyst for a permanent potentially negative effect(s) on the brain.

Alcohol and mushrooms/acid don't have a synergetic effect. Really id just anxiety if you're noticing any real problems. Or maybe if you don't drink ever and you feel sick when you drink it's fucking with the trip.

Like acid I drink usually as I'm coming up then pretty much stop, because once you're tripping the alcohol doesn't effect you. and it's pretty damn easy to chug a bunch of shit since you aren't drunk, then once the acid starts to wear off you start feeling drunk.

there are definitely other effects which I can't explain. it's like I am on a mild psychedelic (not specifically acid or shroom-like) trip all the time. acid may have started it but I didn't feel it until eating shrooms, which I have always felt to be much safer until recently as you might imagine :P

I remember the first time I ate an 8th of heady Shrooms... kidding!  Remember if they have blue, orange, green, or any other strange colors becareful, you are bound to trip hard.  Were the caps closed? If so you are going to trip super hard too.  I have always mixed booze and shrooms, but never did it often do it on an empty stomach.  It is a good idea to have something in there.  It seems like in a short time you did alot to your body, maybe next time chill out for an hour before indulging in the sweetness of boomers. Your trip wasnt that bad, so you passed out, so you threw up, who really hasn't done both while eating.  I know I have.  20 mins is a long time, but whatever you are fine you still alive, lesson learned.

Use your heads when eating mushrooms, maybe start with a couple caps and steams, if you get that feeling and you want to eat a little more go for it.  If you start coming down a little smoke a little grass and eat some more. 

The other things is, you should always have a safe zone or a safety person while tripping someone who can calm you down when things go odd.  I am that person now with a lot of friends since those days of tripping are behind me.  Also if is a good thing to trip with other people tripping, less anxiety since you know they are going through the same thing.

Oh word. I'm used to that stuff. Mine got better than what it was.

For a while I could see the particles at the edges of things. Still get mad trails though, I've had trails and floaters for 2 or 3 years.


Some of it's actually pretty cool though, especially the trails. Floaters used to annoy me bu i just kind of flow with them

I'm not very "anxious" about this whole situation to be completely honest. I guess the only emotion that i really got out of this experience was a scary one. I am usually not the type of person to not be able to handle my trips, i've had my experiences with psilocybin, and acid.

They are both a beautiful, expanding drug in my opinon. And, yes you nailed it right on the dot, i did realize a lot more about myself throughout this experience, I learned a lot about the mixtures of alocohol and mushrooms too. I can assure you I won't make that mistake twice.

What do you think the whole psychedelic experience is about for me? I don't take these drugs to get really fucked up because i like the feeling man, drugs aren't something i would like to just take for fun? The main reason for this use of these substances on occasions is the love, the engery, the vibrations in the air. I love denoting new or altered perceptions or sensory experiences, everyone has had their own share, i'm not going to sit and preach like i'm the god because your right, i don't have all the knowledge in the world. Whenever i decide to use these type of substances, it's to enhance the perception of "life" as i see it in my own eyes.

Another reason the psychdelic class of drugs really fascinates me is the way that it is used as a tool to realize the transpersonal ecology in the world around us. The altered state of conciousness, the importance of humans achieving a symbiotic relationship with the earth; realizing the unified totality of nature. When you take mushrooms or LSD, you enter a whole other demension.

Listen, alls i'm saying is i've had my experiences just like everyone else has. I will agree with you, most of the things that i know about these things are not read on a website or through any other person, i'm one to commonly expirement before i believe in what i read. What i know is what i've GONE through, what i've honestly experienced with these illicit substances.

Good vibes right here. I'm glad to see someone else likes to see the real word in the surreal vision that not many people can see it in. It's a perception of life that is so beautiful. Everything i've done in the past, has made me reflect on my future, and i don't regret a single bit of it! I plan on trying these caps sometime next weekend to see how it blows over :)

I'm so happy you just said this. Discussing this with someone who has the same problems as me is key. I only say this because i have the same "reoccurances" as the day goes on too. In my opinion, it was from the LSD use. Last month, i took acid 6 times in a month, this month i've taken mushrooms twice in 2 weeks. Whenever i smoke weed, which is on a pretty common basis, i find myself staring off into the nature. It's not that i hallucinate on an everyday basis, it just brings back some solid, vivid memories on my trips. It's known for that to be a side effect.

Watch out children. IT WILL CATCH YOU.

So in the beginning of this thread you said that psychedelics don't affect your life negatively after, but now that he brings up HPPD, you suddenly say you are affected negatively by LSD and mushrooms and warning kids to watch out? You're a hypocrite.

It's a joke fuck boy, if i thought they affected me in a negative way, i wouldnt take them on such a casual basis. I love the feelings i get from these things, fuck HPPD i don't know what that shit is and if i have it one day then we'll go from there, but LIVE AND LET LIVE BUDDY.

He's saying he has HPPD, or Halucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder. Basically means you still have visual hallucinations or distortions long after a trip. Maybe permanently.

Dude drugs are expanders of the mind... Its always a good experience. As Leary said, one day we'll learn by the chemicals we put in our body, not the things we're taught in schools.

LSD is the start of that in our modern society, and mushrooms have had that purpose for thousands of years. They exist because they need to be used by creative, intelligent people, to build science and society. DNA? Discovered on LSD. John Lennon? Tripped thousands of times. Who rules American Psychology? Men who got their start in psychedelic research.

Also consider this: LSD and other psychedelic research in part led to a huge burst of research into neurochemistry and psychology. LSD affects serotonin receptors; hugely important neurotransmitter. You can't deny that these drugs are extremely important and useful.

Legalize everything.

I wouldn't exactly say that serotonin is a hugely important neurotransmitter overall. It's important for happiness and "well-being" only, for the most part The major neurotransmitters are glutamate and GABA, which make up like ~99% of all neurotransmitters. Also, hallucinogenic drugs such as LSD are only partial agonists at the 5HT2 (one of seven) serotonin receptor, and while there has been research done regarding their effects on the brain, I would not say that it's a major area of research in neurobiology. Where are you getting your facts from? I've taken several neurobiology classes and just recently took a class on neuropsychopharmacology (drugs used that affect brain function). There are generally no positive effects to hallucinogenic drugs other than the euphoria you experience while high, which is really just due to an increase in serotonin. Antidepressants like SSRIs or MAOIs, and anti-nausea drugs work differently than psychedelic drugs,and those are really the only two types of drugs acting at serotonin receptors. Saying that these drugs are "extremely important" because John Lennon wrote some good music while high is pretty damn stupid, in my opinion. The majority of drugs are very bad for you, and that is a fact, not an opinion.

were they mushies you ate before, if not they may not be psilocybin/psycolcin based mushies if you said they were orange then they could be a member of the amanita family, which work off muscimol and ibotic acid if improperly prepared or picked slightly different they could be deadly, but if not it could have been the weed dude i had a mate who didn't smoke that much then had a green party cone and went the same way as you, the booze would have made the weed more fucked too but from personal experience doubt it would effect your trip as much.

Definitely an opinion you have there, quit talking out of your ass. I've read government funded booklets (in Canada) that state that LSD and mushrooms have no physical effects on your body. That's not to say that i'm denying that they will fuck up your psyche, cause they did fuck me up in that way for a while. But they also opened up my eyes and saved me from a LOT of trouble.

OP you're really arrogant. Don't trip 6 times in two months. You don't realize it until a year or two later how much you really were thinking differently etc. Speaking from experience, I lost it.

LSD was most definitely not the start of modern society. People such as Timothy Leary was an acidhead who couldn't distinguished drug-based reality from the reality that the majority of the earth inhabits every day. I'm not saying he didn't have some good ideas, but scientists use empirical evidence for their research and the LSD church-like movement in the 60s strayed away from that. They used these experiences as another reality that they constantly lived in, and through that yes you may be able to think differently, understand people on a deeper level, but that's about all that it's good for in my humble opinion (maybe cultural imprinting as well?). The mind is a terrible thing to waste and a head filled with LSD won't necessarily give you the wisdom you need to just fucking STOP and come back down down to this plane of existence every once in a while.

DNA was not 'discovered' on LSD, Crick and Watson had everything they needed and then LSD helped them think in a bit different manner. I won't lie, I've had similar experiences on LSD while reading theoretical physics, specifically string theory and the holographic principle (we will one day be able to figure everything out about our universe, I believe). I can't say psychedelics have no potential, but they are potentially dangerous and not for the common good. Thousands of years ago when ibogaine and amanitas were being used in the east and psilocybin/peyote was being used in the west, in many societies only the shamans were allowed to partake in these psychedelic experiences. They had a looooong time to perfect how to use these ethneogens.

I think these drugs may HAVE been important, but many of the former advocates of psychedelics are now sober and recognize that our advances in technology allow us to analyze the world in a less metaphorical sense and in a much more literal fashion based off hard evidence.

^ This is bullshit. It was discovered on LSD. Of course they were a lot smarted than most of us probably, but lsd helped them to come up with that idea.

IF you actually did say they have no potential you'd be an idiot. Yes they are potentially dangerous, everything is potentially dangerous. They can def be for the common good though, and by common good I don't mean everybody. Some people just aren't right to have a safe experience, that's fine. I just feel that the perceptional changes that open the mind on psychedelics would playing a big role in getting us to start moving in a better direction as a people. I'm not saying we should all drop ridiculous amount of acid everyday. If everyone had access to lsd, i think we would have a far better shot of seeing a renaissance take place.

They def have been important. Just because many people are sober from use at the moment doesn't mean they regret past use. And a good amount of what goes in starts in the human mind. Our decisions and ideas control what takes place.

I have had dangerous experiences with LSD and others CAN develop HPPD after one time of use, unlike the far-fetched and often overemphasized addictive potential of, let's say, cocaine. Not saying that psychedelics are worse than coke, because I believe the exact opposite. I don't regret my time with them but I doubt I will be returning to that plane of reality anytime soon. I still strongly believe that before anyone takes a psychedelic there should be a psych evaluation to determine whether or not it is recommended. I wish I hadn't touched acid, shrooms I'm totally OK with though. They have been used for thousands of years, while LSD has been used for 80 or so and is proclaimed an 'enhancer of consciousness?' It might simulate similar sensations but what the fuck do we know?

I feel when man fucks around with the brain with manmade chemicals, you don't know exactly what you're getting...and very few readily accessible, if any, long term research studies have been done. I don't trust LSD, simple as that. Wasn't even designed for psychedelic research in the first place.
