What kind of salt do you put on snow to make it non-slushy?

use the same salt you use to make sure your front walk isnt icy... all the salt does is melt the snow downt to the hard layer.... getting rid of the slush.

we didnt bring salt to crystal so i stole a ton of salt packets from the resturant and it didnt do much good

This place is technical, it technically sucks

Any type of salt lowers the freezing point of water to -8'c. This makes snow/slush change state (from frozen to liquid) which requires a lot of energy to do... This energy is stolen from the snow around the salted area, causing it to drop in temperature, which makes it bond to the snow beneath (hardens the snow.) When the melted water drains, voila! You're left with a nice hard surface! Man, am I ever a nerd?!

Fetailzer just give you a quicker response time. Its almost instant when you put it on the snow.

any kind of salt works... i've used table salt many of times and it's worked beautifuly...

haha yeah table salt works (Brampton jib session).

I think fertilizers are used instead of salt because it's not gonna kill the grass when the snowmelts...

I might be wrong.
