Take grips off line dart poles???

so won some line dart poles in a prize pack for a competition and i was wondering if there was a way to take their grips off so that i can cut the poles and use the grips again? ive heard line grips are riveted on, but there has to be a way to get them off.

i just ran them under a tap full of hot water for a bit, then stuck the grip in a vice and pulled it off

not true, i remember a thread about this before, someone said there is a bolt or screw you need to take out

i heard that they were riveted to the pole, and you cant take them off, or something like that..

really? i remember someone did take them off, are you sure there are rivets

i dunno. i read an old thread that said all line poles have rivets in them. probably not true. and i did read in that same thread that the OP got his grips off, but this was a year ago, and different line poles.

ill try boiling water tomorrow

did u unscrew off the bolt at the top first then slide the grip off?

yea, undo the bolt and take off the pole strap, and then hold the grip in boiling water for a minute or so, and then take it out and use a towel on the grip end, and maybe put a park glove on your other hand for grip on the pole and twist and pull

yeah i usually put it in boiling water then take it off, i have a tenancy to break poles alot but i reuse the grips and put them on other poles. so when i put them back on i put the grips in boiling water. after ive cut down the poles i will either wrap the poles with tape to make a really tight fit or i just use epoxy to get the grip to stay on. what ever is lying around. but yeah definitely heat it up before putting back on or taking it off
