Rockering skis

so i was thinkin, i've seen threads on here about how people rocker their skis by clamping them with blocks in between the skis, what if i took a ratchet strap and hooked it on the tip and tail and slowly cranked it while puttin hot water on it over time, would that yield any results?

drill 4 holes, 2 in the tip of the ski and 2 at the tail of the ski. feed a very strong string or thin rope through all the holes. flex the ski as hard as you can and tie the string or rope tight. just for shits and giggles though. after a day the string stretchs and you have to flex the ski again and tie it. really fun though

that doesnt sound like a good idea. ive made a few skis and when you are layering the wood in the core, you do it so that they will have more flex in one direction, but if you start warping that then you kinda kill the pop and "skiablity" of the ski.

Interesting and doable, but like above, your ski was made the way it is for a reason... Also, rockered skis ski shorter... So really, your losing even more of your effective edge.

I like 160 normal, 167 or so rockered... 175 rockered powder... so yeah, careful what you are doing if you haven't skied a lot of rockered skis yet.
