I guess its what you consider athletic talent.

Hitting a fast ball is hard, but any NBA player has the raw talent to play baseball. In that they could be good baseball players (not to say they all have the natural ability to hit a fast ball). For fucks sake most of the guys who are good hitters in MLB can barely get their fat asses around the bases. Its like saying john daily is a world class athlete, no he is good at golf, not an athlete. There are very few MLB players who could even sit the bench in the NBA. NBA guys are on a whole different level, they are like super humans.

The NBA has the best natural athletes in the world in that they could be successful in any sport if they played that sport from an early age. (the have the best natural athletic talent.)

I'm not sure that simply being able to jump high makes you talented. As far as pure athleticism goes I think I would have to give it to football. Being able to jump that high, while being hit/covered by other people and still make a play is probably more talented. I'd rather watch a diving catch in the end zone rather than a dunk any day and I'm not even really a fan of either sport.

I CAN'T BELIEVE GRIFFIN WON. He did absolutely nothing impressive, and his final dunk was the most gay theatrical thing I have ever seen. I have friends that could dunk of the front of a little car like that and they aren't 6'10...they are like 5'10.

i hope BOTH of you are kidding, saying basketball isnt talent but baseball is? dude what? baseball is a bunch of 30 year old fatasses running around, if your a hitter you have 1 job. hit a ball and run....and maybe run and catch a ball. basketball is is way more athletic then baseball but still its a pretty lame excuse for "the most athletic sport"

I use to think like you, but in reality there is no other sport that even comes close.

Sure there are more specialized sports like swimming or being in a triathlon, but basketball players have far and away the most raw athletic talent.

A basketball player could walk into basically any sport and be competitive if not dominate, just doesn't work the other way around.

youre absolutely wrong, if i throw a basketball player on a horse i guarantee you theyll be in the botton 5, i throw a basketball player on a fencing pad and i promise you hes going to get out touched. Id also love to see a basketball player try and do gymnastics

hell ive seen it time and time again when you have a swimmer, for example, take part in and do awesome in other sports. i am a swimmer and im in my schools top 2% in athletic testing, every single student HAS to do the tests (flexibility, endurance/cardio, weights,agility) also, otherwise theyll fail gym and be held back.

there are 3 other swimmers in the top 2%,
theres only 1 basketball player,
2 football players,
2 gymnasts,
a couple kids from track
and i forgot all the other guys in it.

but when youre doing a sport like swimming, youre working every muscle in your body at the same time, while working on flexibility and sprints at the same time. we also do speed sets like suicides and track starts in order to work on response time.

i am not saying swimming is the hardest sport at all, but its much god damn higher then basketball

despite how "unathletic" golf is, it is a challenge on your body
despite how "hard" football is, there are those talented in different aspects of the game
im not saying some sports arent as physically or mentally demanding as others, but that does not necessarily make it "harder" than another sport

My roommate played lacrosse, He's a pussy therefore all lacrosse players are pussies.

I played golf, its hard as fuck and annoying.

I can't swim for shit.

I've rode motocross, professional racers are in the best shape out of any sport out there, they just can't run cause their knees are fucked.

I played baseball, its hard as fuck but you don't need to be in very good shape.

I played football, Takes hardly any skill but you have to be strong, athletic, fast.

I play Hockey, Its hard as fuck, you have to be strong, athletic, and fast.

I don't play soccer, im not gay.

I don't play basketball cause that whole "no physical contact" is pussy shit. Why swat the ball when you can just knock the fucker over?

I've played varsity football, soccer, and golf, and had the opportunity to play basketball but chose not to because the coach is a cock.

Golf is the easiest to do ok in, but to be number 1 takes an incredible amount of skill. Notice I said skill though, not athletic talent...it's more a game than a sport in this respect.

Football is just really damn easy....requires almost no endurance since you break between every play.

Soccer was probably one of the hardest. Takes insane amounts of athletic ability and endurance.

Basketball was really hard, took lots of athletic ability. Seeing my friends who went through with it and played varsity, they are all in fantastic shape no homo, and it is one of the toughest sports.

I played baseball for like 8 years too. It is not easy. HItting a fastball or pitching accurately over multiple innings is tough. It is NOT, however, a test of athleticism. As has been previously stated, there are many unathletic professionals. In this respect, it's more of a game than a sport.
