Screws in my ankle

Hey i was hoping someone can give me some encouraging advice or help....6 weeks ago i was practicing throwing 180s over the railing on my 2nd story deck and i ended up crushing my heel into 30 peices now i have 6 screws and a plate in my heel attached to my ankle the doctor isnt sure i can ski to full ability this season anybody have any metal in their foot and are skiing just fine???? Please let me know.....Nu Jerze!

here some REALLY incourage advice,
my dad has a rv at the bottom of breckenridge in CO, he is 50, and last winter he got 6 screws and a plate in his ankle (he bailed skiing doing a pretty impressive line for being 50, with lots of physio over the summer, he managed to ski 55 days this year, and skiing hard, and plans to get the plate and screws removed for next season.
If my dad can do it, you'll be shreading it up in no time, lots of physio, and hit the bike dude.

i have a titanium femur, im wondering how hard ill be skiing next season.

If it can be injured, I've probably done it. I have 2 screws and 2 pins in my knee, and a hamstring for an ACL. Boyd Easley has pig parts in his knee. Skogen Sprang almost lost his leg in a motocross accident. If those 2 can live to ski another day, you surely can.

You will ski again. Start hitting physio hard ASAP, take care of yourself, eat well, and things will work themselves out.

last year overshot a table by a long ways, and my tibia went through my growth plate... so they put a screw through my growth plate in my ankle, i skied fine this season, all though i get little pains every now and then...
