They suck balls,

Rode them 3 days, they were fine, Seemed like a fun ski. Then i hit a 5ft drop with a nice mellow landing, and POOF, they're done. I had no other skis so i used them for 3 more days where i fianlly hit some rails. I know i shouldnt have, because this voided the warranty.

Here are some pictures taken day after they broke.(before the rails)

First: 2 sidewall cracks

I paid to ship them back because i was told they fell under warranty, and I got an email back saying that they didnt fall under warranty seeing i hit rails, and I had to pay AGAIN to ship them ($40). At this point i was not  upset, frusterated, and disapointed. The skis are still with boone and if anyone wants a pair of 171 boone magic sticks go for it.

I'm not saying that the warranty is "unfair" I'm trying to say why would they market the skis as "park" skis if they can't last 3 days on the mountain?

dude i have had the same magic sticks for the past 2 seasons. Probably well over 200 days on them, and they have held up great. No edge cracks, just some slight tail delam, but i fixed that. My brother is sponsored by boone and all he has had is a cracked edge..once again NO BIG DEAL, considering all companies edges crack. They are a fairly new company, and as any new company would, some of the batches of skis have had flaws. Anybody remember lines from a few years back? they sucked with delam and what not. All i am saying is that they are great skis, and they perform awesome. Just because 1 person has had problems you hear about it. What about all the other 1000's of people who dont have problems with them? you never hear about that, because instead of online bitching, they are outside riding. All of you should do the same.

I have alot of issues with this: I will make a list.

1) 200 days? You probably aren't skiing in the park if they lasted that long.
2) Sponsored brother
3) Lines skis had delam problems way back, around 05/06. That's alot more than "a few" years back.
4) It's more than 1 person. In fact, it's a lot more than 1 person.
5) I really doubt 1000's of people have boones.
6) Why is there bitching and no riding? BECAUSE THESE KIDS CAN'T SKI BECAUSE THEIR SKIS ARE BROKEN.
7) That comment was just young money retarded anyway. We do go skiing you fuckhead, we aren't on the mountain 24/7.
8) It's the end of the season, alot of kids can't go out skiing.

You are just mad because "your brother" is probably yourself who is sponsored by Boone and you know they suck.

Hold on....everyone chill.

Let us not dismiss the cracked sidewall. Cracked edges are one thing, a cracked sidewall is a much more serious matter. I doubt that the five foot drop really killed this ski....the damage was probably due to rails and the drop was the feather that broke the camels back so to speak.... So the guy is not entitled to a new pair of skis, but a courtesy warranty at the discretion of Boone....

Maybe the dude with the sponsored brother should quit attacking this guy and be empathetic....even maybe help him get the poor dude hooked up....that would be representing your sponsor well. Passion for your gear is great, but don' t be a smuck, your aren' t helping anybody.

How the hell do you get park skis to last 200 days? (that is at least more than two seasons I pressume)
I have well over 90 days this year I have used up two pairs?

1.ok for one, i live right next to a ski resort, so i hit rails and jumps just about everyday.
2. I had my boones before my brother was sponsered by them. Bought them at the dstructer sale when they where 199 (BOOM ROSTED)
3.Still line skis had defects and if im not mistaken they did nothing about it either.
4.Ok 1 person or 20. I have had armadas, k2's and lines..guess what? they all crack and get damage, and pretty much all ski companys have the same warrenty.
5.U cant be sure though that 1000 people dont have boones.
6. Not everyone that has boones has broken skis. AKa me.

For two i am not my brother. if u want to look him up ill give you his username you jackass. Im not a troll. Just showing that boones are not that bad. Have you ever ridden them? probably not so shut the fuck up.

We've had a 5-10% warranty return rate which is below normal standards on our park skis. Our warranty return rate on our Powder skis is 0%. We sold out of all of our inventory this year and Lots of new stuff on the way for next year too! let the haters hate!

they are good skis, dont listen to the haters. All skis are going to beak on rails and in the park period.
Everyone keep in mind we FREESTYLE ski. Whether you are in the backcountry or in the park you are putting your skis in harms way and shits going to happen. some skis are just defect skis no big deal and 90 percent of the time these companies will replace your shit. The day a ski comes out that is the number one ski ever in performance ans lasts more than half a year in perfect condition will never happen..
Afterbangs (probably worlds most durable ski) only perform well on rails and suck balls everywhere else.
Suspects (probably worlds best ski) Best until it breaks in under a year.
Boom..roasted. stupid kids these days

your case is slightly different. I think you got defective skis for sure....but from their perspective I can see them backing their warranty because you hit rails.
Although it is shitty and they could have written you an apology at least, and although I belive your story there is no way to prove you didnt ride rails like crazy on em for a few days. If they gave everyone brand new skis when it was obvious they had hit rails they would be broke..just simple business

Its good you look at those numbers, but you shouldnt stop thinking there..
You must ask yourself why the return rate is so low, or even better, communitacte with your costumers.
Is it because the ski's were so low priced people expected them to get damage/edge cracks/sidewall cracks/etc (maybe they are ok with it), is it because returning isnt worth it (maybe they get new ski's, but its still the same quality), etc etc etc

I have had a pair of Glo Sticks for the past two seasons and I have not had any problems with them. They are a really fun and playful ski.  It sucks to hear people having problems with their park skis but you know that you broke the warranty.  If you put your phone in only a little water the warranty still expires. I have had skis that I thought were defective turned down by Large multi national corporate ski companies. I was mad but I just bit the bullet and saved up for new skis.

5-10%  is pretty pathetic considering most companies (even the little guys) are between 1-3% especially considering how many unsatisfied customers you seem to have. Seems like that number would be much higher if you actually stood behind your product, and supported your customers!

Thanks for trying Boone, I feel bad for those spending someones hard earned cash on shady product from a company likely not be around much longer!

boone pow skis are so much fun to ski. they float so well, and have a surprisingly low swing weight.

i d compare them with EP pro in a bit stiffer.

the park skis are freaking awesome.
super light, good flex.
so easy to ride switch.

i dont know about the durability cause i fucked myself early in the season, but my friend s been hitting urban for 10+ days on them and they are still in great condition, and the edges are perfect.

i d definitly recommend boone skis.

just cause ssomeone has a bad story doesnt mean the company is shitty.

i remember seeing a lot of complains about afterbangs or some armada even though they are awesome skis.


let s not talk about the surface's durability.

seriously if you want some fun skis, go for boone you ll have a blast on them.

I think I need to add my 2 cents to this thread.

First of all, this is Jeff Neagle, not Erik, posting, so don't freak out and say it's Erik trying to defend himself or something.

I think the most important thing is to clear up is Erik's image.  He's not a guido, he's a down to earth guy who grew up skiing Shweitzer, worked in corporate world for a few years, decided it wasn't for him, so he started Boone Skis.  It's hard word starting a ski company when you don't have a ton of capital or resources, and Erik has been doing an exceptional job working with what he can afford to get his hands on.

Yes, the skis have had some durability issues, but what start up ski company hasn't?  What I think is most important is that Erik does listen (despite popular belief) to his customers and team riders and the skis have been getting consistently better with each production run.  The company is committed to making quality skis and supporting people who participate in the sport we love.  When a change needs to be made to current ski design or production, it's made.  Everyone at Boone is a skier, and we all want to be on the best possible skis as well.

I can't directly comment on this warranty issue because I rarely handle any warranties and didn't see the skis in person, but I will say a couple things.  Magic Sticks were some of the early production runs, which historically were not as durable as the current skis.  My current 180 freeride skis from Boone have been my every day park/freeride for around 70 days and are in great shape.  Some edge cracks, but that's to be expected when you slide rails every day.  At the shop I work in I have seen brand new Stocklis come back to the store with cracked sidewalls after a day of use.  Crazy things happen, usually those crazy things are a manufacturer defect, but every once in a while it's because they landed on a rock, drove over them, etc.  (I'm not inferring that this happened to the OP)

So, to end this, I completely understand where the OP is coming from.  It absolutely sucks when something breaks and you think it was a defect, only to find out the company in question disagrees.  I'm sure it has happened to all of us.  That doesn't mean Boone isn't committed to providing a quality product.  I don't remember if you mentioned if you called or not, but I would have tried calling Boone.  9 times out of 10 you'll get Erik, if no one answers leave a message.  He wants to help out park skiers, trust me.

To the OP and everyone else with an obvious negative opinion of Boone:  I hope that you guys don't just turn your back on the company.  Keep an open mind and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at what Boone has to offer currently and in the future.
