Best Helmet Camera???

What is the best helmet cam out there? I have a GoPro sd and it is pretty average and i want to upgrade. Any thoughts/suggestions???

I like the contour hd, Small and results are just as good. I prefer the sound quality on the Contour HD much more. My dad borrows mine for hangliding and you don't get a lot of noise from the winds when he reaches high speeds. The only minor problem is that the auto adjustment for the white balance isn't great. Look into it

Only problem with the contour hd is it is hard to mount it to places besides your head and flat spaces...also it is quite bulky and looks wierd...gopro you can mount it to your pole your chest etc. also i find it has better picture quality and it is easier to use

Lol i think the go pro is much bulkier than the contour MUCH. The contour doesn't have many mounting options but it fits on your goggle strap. The go pro looks much more ridiculous imo

go pro HDs are quite good. already have a built in fisheye and have nice quality at 720 60fps. but at night go pros are pretty bad.

so is every single other video camera though. obviously some are better than others, but cameras don't work like the eye, they suck at night and always require much more light. i would say gopro's ability to shoot at night isn't any worse than a lot of other small HD cameras.

as i believe eheath says, they're not magic.

contours are just as easy to mount and in come cases easier to mount then the gopro.

contours are smaller then the gopro and less bulky.

contours dont look werid like the go pro. can mount on poles, etc. im sure you could rig up a chest

contour has the same picture quality as the gopro.

If you're looking for the BEST you can possibly get, sony has a few extremly expensive ones.

contour doesn't have the same picture quality as gopro. images tend to be darker and less vivid

It has to be hooked up to a computer, but the camera settings are adjustable.  You can preselect two settings to have on the camera which are then selected with a switch under the battery cover.

It's similar to a Go Pro, but it comes with an integrated LCD screen. Also, at least in Europe, it's almost only half the price of the Go Pro.
