This past Summer I had the chance of a lifetime to be a photo intern at Windells Camp. They are now accepting applications for this coming Summer! So polish up your resumes and gear lists and apply!

ski.the.east - I would actually recommend driving personally because its nice to have your own car out there.

despite - Not quite sure on the deadline. As far as applying again, I am going back East for a bit this Summer to spend time with my dad and explore and such. It's great experience and Darcy Bacha (Head Photographer) knows what he is talking about and is an awesome guy. I also would like to give someone else the chance to jump-start their career. It really is an awesome experience to have plus you get to meet and shoot with everyone that comes through camp...and the exposure you get is awesome, an amazing networking opportunity.

I'm not really sure about that, when I applied it wasn't an advertised position so I sent Darcy my website which is a general portfolio. I would make it 80% action and 20% lifestyle? just a guess there. You take a lot of different kinds of shots at camp from photos of the new additions to action to just anything that happens at camp (a lot of the activities). So as far as a portfolio I would show your versatility of your abilities.

Thanks Will! But as far as choosing weeks, if you are gonna be a professional for a company you don't always get to choose your hours which sucks but you got to get used to it! Plus its the "funnest place on Earth" so a whole Summer isn't that bad.

True, Windells is pretty dope.

And it depends a lot on the situation I guess. Personally, I'm already pretty busy with film school and interning with PBP down here, so having no control over my summer work sounds kind of crazy. but if i weren't doing film school and my internships already, a windells internship would be amazing and the available all summer thing wouldn't be an issue.

in addition, because i'm already doing internships doing the school year, my parents would like it if i got a job that paid over the summer which would not be possible if i didn't know when i would be gone and for how long

I think it's designed for kids who don't have job offerings and need to get their foot in the door. I'd love to be at Windells all summer, but even if I was being paid I'd still be losing thousands of dollars.
