Your Worst Ski Fail. (p.o.s. equipment)

Landed backseat after fronty off cornice and BOTH my toepieces went flying skyward. Had to walk/download 3 lifts to get to my car so I could go eat some ski shop employees.

7 springs oh so kindly changed 2 of their jumps unbeknownst to me
so as i was used to, i charged them and overshot by a lot
completely cleared the landing, landed backseat, still hauling ass into the second
get myself back up, hit the second jump and try to mute 180
all is well even though i'm definitely landing on flat again
so i land, my boot comes out of the binding, and my break gets bent around my ski
had to wrench the break around so i could get back to the lodge, then the ski shop so they could fix my break
and that is all
just a bent break

Never had any bad ones myself.. Worst was a switch up on a dfd, landed switch and I just felt something break and explode. Metal and plastic bits everywhere from my broken brake and my ski zooming down the hill...

I saw some kid hit maybe a 7 foot drop into pow and land a little front seat and flip over forwards. He gets up and his ski is just snapped in front of the toe piece

Not me, but one of my friends dropped like a 15 foot cliff into powder and got a little forward and ripped the heel piece out of the mounting plate on his griffons.

about five years ago, was just recovering from a broken collar bone, first day of the season, in March because of it, and came into the "Midway" area, where friends were waiting, went into hockey stop, and the older pair of markers on my pocket rockets completely exploded on the downhill ski. rebroke my collar bone, and had to ride down in the toboggan with my dad driving with all of the other ski patrolers making fun of me and messing with me cuz they are all my dads friends. then, last season, brand new pair of volkl bridges with marker piston 12s, broke out pivoting to piece, and destroyed more bindings. but these were warranted and i got a $25 gift certificate at the ski shop.

Sparknotes: rebroke collar bone from one shattered marker binding, and destroyed another pair last year.

broken telebinding on skin up after first run 7 miles in the Vail backcountry. had to use bailing wire and duct tape to get myself out.

Once i was skiing and i fell, and both my skis came off and the brakes didn't work for some reason so the skis kept going for like a long distance, it was a good day

About two years ago I was going for a backflip off a cornice into what looked like a really soft landing. It was a bigger jump than I was used to backflipping so I decided to slow down my rotation to avoid over rotating. I go for it, but unfortunately I under rotated, tips dug into hard/ice pack and I face planted. Nothing more than a bloody nose and headache-- but my new JJ's took a beating. Left ski bent so bady that I added camber to the rocker nose and the right ski broke in half :( I was so pissed. Luckily this summer i found a pair of 185's with jesters on ebay for $500. --expensive lesson to learn tho
