When/if you have kids when you grow up....

If I have kids i think im gonna run them through all the video game consoles i grew up on.

For example, ill start them out on NES with mario and mario 2 and 3 and other NES games i played as a kid.  Then ill get them super nintendo and have them play  super mario and donkey kong country 1 and 2. Then ill get them n64 a few years later and have them get blown away by mario 64 and pilotwings 64 and starfox 64. Then ill get them ps2 a few years later and have them play metal gear solid and atv offroad and dynasty warriors. then later ill get them xbox and have them play halo with their friends on 4 vs 4 system link games and have them play th underground and amped 2 above all else. Then ill have them play xbox 360  call of duty 2 and all the new stuff until they catch up.

But who knows what new game systems will come out in between then..

Anyways dont you think it would be cool to put your kids through the same video game upbringing that you had? I think it would be awesome to have your kids relive alot of the old games that you used to play.  Otherwise i feel like they wont appreciate how far games have come. I'm so glad i was alive when NES came out...

was anybody into the magnivox shit that was around before nintendo? that shits  hard core

In my eyes, I don't think it's necessary for children to have a video game counsel. I've grown up without one. There are better things out there than video games.

im gonna let my little guy play ocarina of time if i ever have one, for sure

and im gonna get him a powerwheels, a powerrangers megazord, and make him watch cartoons like ninja turtles, inspector gadget, chip and dale, rugrats, cause god knows what garbage kids are watching today..

oh, im for sure going to buy him nerf guns too, cause those things were just awesome to play with in the backyard

same. im definately gettin my kids some sweet play cars and bikes so they can bomb hills and have the fun i had, im gonna take em sledding  and i'm definately gonna take him skiing/snowboarding  whichever he/she choses as early as possible.

Meh, I don't think that's really fair. Your child can be great at spelling/grammar/school etc and play video games too. Its all about moderation and control of how often they play. It also depends on the content of the games. There are so many factors and there are lots of things I said I wouldn't do as a parent that I find were just ridiculous thoughts.

i'd rather my child be competent in other facets of life than have mastered consoles that have already been outdated for more than decade.

actual activities and such are more important. Not against video games or computers, but as a kid, you're better off going outside into the woods, getting some branches, and wacking your buddies around with them for a few hours and stupid shit like that.

personally i think video games are good for your mind. i know people who have never played any and they are dull as fuck.

just for the record, ahmet dadali loves cod online and hes ahmet dadali, i also play hella video games and i got close to 4 min in the mile so... keep stereotyping...

but yea anyways i dont know why you are so upset. I think video games fucking rock, and all the best gamers i have ever met were athletic as fuck. soo  yeah.  Maybe not where you live but i dont really wanna know where you live, you seem to me like you think your smarter than everyone

I regret 100% spending all the money on my ps3. I have had it for about 2 years now and I honestly touch it once in two weeks. The only time I used it everyday was when I tore my ACL and could not move. If my kids want videogames, they can waste their own money on that shit.

I would like to have my kids be out doorsy like i am. I would like it if they release theri stress by going on an aggressive mountain bike rathe than pwning noobs but I am not going to try to make my kid into something that they dont want to be. As long as they are healthy, socially well adjusted and getting decent grades i am not going to try to make my kid do anything or be like me. I will put them on skis but if thats not their thing, so be it. Dont you remember when you would hate it when your parents would pressure you to be like them and you would hate it? I dont wanna be that type of father who tries o live his dreams threw his children.

if you want your kids to be outdoorsy and that jazz, then make sure to give them video games early on. that way they will not be that interested in them and they will actually end up going outside more often. If you deprive the kids of video games when they go over to a friends house and play them they will get overly stoked and then be totally addicted later.

its the same shit with weed and alcohol and partying and shit. tell them that they are free to do what they want and then they will not be that interested in it.

Eh. I will probably allow maybe one consel or 2 in my household. But I really want my kids to enjoy life and have fun like I did (or how I am currently) and get them skiing.

nope. I stand by my word. My roommate got an Xbox360 for christmas, I play it a little, but I'm not into it. It's sad, cause I'll go out skiing, come back and he'll still be playing.
