Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I'm looking for more current information on this matter and I'm sure others can benefit from this information as well.
I just picked up some new Thall with STH14 bindings and need them mounted. Where have you personally gotten yours done and we're you satisfied with their work. A price point is also be appreciated as we can gauge what it will cost at various locations.
Here is what I've found out so far from my brief research of local ski shops.
NorthShore Skis and Boards: $40 and done overnight. I've heard good things about them and they seem very knowledgeable. My friend had his done there and say their service is second to none.
Comor: Another shop that I've heard good things about. Turnaround time seems a little longer but the work is top notch. Don't know about pricing but heard they're not cheap... (heard they will do it for a 12-pack, is this true anymore?)
Vancouver Skis and Boards: Went to their shop a few years back and they seem like cool guys. I think they said it would cost about $35-$40 and turn around time was 1 day if they're not busy and 3 days if they're busy. They seem to have a lot of broken and damage skis in the shop for repairs.
Crystal Glide: A buddy of mine had his done there and he was satisfied with their work. I think he said it was $35, but this was one and a half years ago. The screws in the heel started to come out a little and they fixed free of charge and quickly. Any more info on this place would be great for those of you who live in North Vancouver as this is where it is located.
Swiss Sports Haus: My dad had his bindings mounted here a few years back. Top notch work from what I could tell and they were very helpful along the process. Real ski junkies in there and they are a class act. I think they charge my dad $45 for the mount, but once again, this was 3 years ago and I'm sure pricing has changed.
I'm not trying to take any thing away from those who do it themselves, but I just rather have a legit shop back me up with this sort of stuff.
What about shops like MEC, Snowcovers, etc... I want to avoid Sportschek as my friend had a really bad experience with them and I refuse to let them touch my gear.
