P90 X

So I've been doing P90 X (the plyo and the abs ones) and I've noticed significant improvements in my switch ups, spins and jumps.

Just wondering if anyone else is doing this or something similar to step their game up, and looking for other suggestions as well

I did it with my hockey team once a week , it helped my skiing no more than staying in shape. Now yoga really helped with my grabs, i also get hurt less when i fall. Which i assume is because of the yoga.

core strength helps me so much with skiing. i never ski park but the other day i went through the park fucking around and everything was much easier since i have a much stronger core this season than last

i do a lot of work on an exercise ball. i thought of a workout that i introduced to my ski team where you and a partner each kneel on an exercise ball about 10ft apart and you toss a medicine ball back and forth

i love the p90x plyometrics thing, that shit is incredible, fuckin covered in a layer of sweat by the end of it. i dont do the other ones though, just the plyo, and i noticed a HUGE improvement in my speed/agility while skating and running. not so much with my skiing though

P90X actually changed my life. I went from being able to do 3 pull ups to 15. Sadly, I haven't been working out lately due to being overworked/the holiday season, but while working out this summer I noticed a marked improvement in my ability on the trampoline to spin faster, jump higher, and hold grabs longer. Cork 9 mute, mute misty 9, rodeo 9 japan, mute 10? Stomped. I'm getting back on the program tomorrow, actually. I'm super stoked!

The whole program is supposed to be 6 days a week...do it for 3 months and I promise you'll notice a world of difference in your skiing.

I've just been doing the abs and plyo, and I've been doing freeweights and dumbbells for my arms and chest, and central body stuff for my back. It's working really well

We do more than enough training for hockey. Its mostly core and thigh work outs too, its not that big of a difference to our regular stuff. Im sure it does work though.

P90 X is just a workout, not magic.  If you aren't in shape and then you do it, ya you're going to not be a pansy ass anymore.  Surprised that core is at the heart of athletic performance?

He won't stunt his growth, especially since the program doesn't use weights, but at 14 he might not have the strength base to start doing it. I know I wouldn't have been able to go through these videos without stopping and/or yakking a lot at that age

All kids are different. I could do chin ups all day when I was younger and do push ups out the ass, but I couldn't actually lift any weight. It's like my little body just didn't get tired.


My advice to him is just try it and see what happens. Worst thing that'll happen is it's too hard and he doesn't do it. No loss.

Research a workout program that fits your needs. Educate your self. Theres alot more than working out than doing bi curls and bench. If you want results you need to know what your doing

my dad, who is now 56, started running about 8 months ago and doing p90x about 1 month ago. he went from 190lbs down to 170 and is in killer shape. he's still got that old man dad flab, but looks really good. lost the gut, and is in killer shape, which is noticable when he plays sports. he runs half marathons and shit. mad props to him. nothing bad can come out of aerobic fitness like that. fuck, our generation is so pathetic. we can sit down and play video games for like 6-8 hours straight, but cant take 30-45 minutes to go for a run, and that's all it takes to be fit and cut your body fat in half.

Cut your body fat in half? With a 30 minute run? Do you weigh like 500 fucking pounds? You speak for yourself when it comes to the generation. I for one workout 4x a week and do conditioning and speed work 2x a week.


As for the other kids, P90X is good for bros who care about their 6 pack but not for someone who actually wants to get strong.

p90x make you any stronger....it will make you look like a queer jumping around the room while watching a television.  if your goal is to have a 6-pack then do the p90x. if you want to get stronger the best three workouts for weight gain are bench-press, squats, and dead lifts.




women love three things: money, the thing between your legs, and a heavy back squat.
