hahaha oh man, what a thread. The Simpsons is the greatest show ever made.

One time at a PTA meeting when I was much younger a lady was talking and said that she doesn't let her kids watch the Simpsons, to which my mom replied "We are the Simpsons".

I'm pretty sure it's just a promotional picture.

And the beatles pop up semi-regularly. I think paul and linda mccartney were guests awhile back (when lisa becomes a vegetarian?) and ringo was on there once too. Great line from that episode too. "Dear marge, thank you for the painting of me. I hung it on me wall. Ringo."

the amendment to be song is such a good one. I swear i've had the words to it memorized since i first saw it. What makes it legendary is the fact that not only did they get the guy who recorded the actual schoolhouse rock song to do that one, but the fact that it's just as, if not more popular than the real I'm just a bill song.

having just rewatched it, i can safely say that dancin' homer is far and away one of the best episodes of any show to ever air on TV.

the mickey mantle speech parody is flawless. It makes you actually feel sad that this imaginary cartoon character is going through that.

still can't pick a favourite, can barely even narrow it down to a short list, but re-watch lisa the vegetarian. definitely one of the best mixes of heart and comedy they've put in an episode
