Who is hitting Wikileaks with denial of service attacks?

Is this just pro-bono stuff that some hackers who happen to be opposed to WL are doing because they believe in it? Are people being paid to do it? Also, i assume it must be a reasonably large amount of people if the attacks posed a serious problem for WL this past week, wonder how many there are..

The government generates billions of dollars in revenue and uses alot of that money for national security they definitely have some pretty skilled hackers/programmers/reprogrammers on their payroll

if youre gonna do this shit at least do it right. i didn't imply that the US couldnt coordinate a DOS attack. i obviously know the US has the resources to, and does, pay tons of computer whizzes but really what i should have said is i know the US gov would love to fuck with this guy (as much as they can) but is the US gov mostly responsible for the attacks? what are the rules surrounding this, for instance if they were caught doing this shit would it look bad/is it "illegal?" is it more worth their while to go after him in other ways, and not try to hack his site seeing as it's mirrored and he has tons more information to hang over their heads? who comprises the majority of these attackers on WL?

wikileaks founder has to tread lightly these days.

interpol has put him on the list of wanted individuals. Sweden, of all countries, wants to bring him in. The fact is, he's made himself a liability to any country, unless he wishes to go live in iran, north korea or those types of places.

Sometime soon, this man is going to simply vanish off the face of the earth. And everyone will know exactly what happened to him.

Amazon took down their hosting becuase of a violation of terms. It was supposedly not because of pressure from the US govt

well, yeah, a lot of people want him but his lawyer has released things basically threatening to release lots more sensitive stuff if anything were to happen to julian

people have already accessed his "insurance" files and released most of it. He seems to forget that just because he knows how to hack, it doesn't mean no one else can't hack his shit. His insurance is basically the rest of the cable leaks unedited. Essentially information he's going to release anyway. Actually, I read somewhere that you can download much of it on the pirate bay already.

Yep. so much international law and internet and network stuff it's really hard to tell , and a great deal of the stuff people read are poorly disguised opinions

i encourage everyone to read as much as they can of the actual documents before setting in stone your opinion on the matter
