Toes fucking freezing

Anything I can do to improve this? I went to SureFoot or something like that to have them punch out the toebox to make it bigger. Anything I can do to increase bloodflow?

word. i have some wool socks i wear on cold days but they do the opposite of what i want them too.
my feet got so warm, that they were sweating. but it was so cold the sweat froze and i had ice on the bottom of my liners and the shells, making my toes FUCKING. FROZEN.
get the thinest ski socks you can possibly find

what socks do you wear and what liners do you have? if you have good both of these your feet will stay a lot warmer.

also, heat up your boots before going out, get a boot heater or just put them in front of the heater in your car while your driving up

Thinner socks isn't always the problem. More times than not, cold toes are the result of your booster strap/ power strap being tight. Not necessarily TOO tight, but tight. My boots require me to torque down my booster straps like a motherfucker to fit correctly since the cuff has packed out. As a result, my feet get pretty much no blood. Solution? I loosen up my booster straps and toe buckles on the lift. It works wonders.

Take your boots off at lunch. Your feet will get the opportunity to warm back up a little bit, helping you in the long run.

Wool socks are also needed for any skier. It's a fact.

Also make sure that your boots/feet/socks aren't wet when you put your boots on. That water will freeze and make your life hell.

However, sometimes it's just really, really cold. On these days quick warming breaks are needed.

this, tremblant skiers know how to stay warm.

also, don't pre heat your boots because your feat will be really warm and sweat for the first couple minutes then you will get cold.

Remove the liner from your boot and then just wear as many socks as you can until it fills up the shell.

my feet are normally cold at first, then i'll go inside warm up and they'll be good for the rest of the day

I have to pre-heat mine, if not they're near impossible to get on. I got a killer deal on SureFoot boots, so I got those, and they basically have to be heated

 im not sure about this but i think the only difference between say 27 and 27.5 is that the toe box is bigger. more room = more warmth.

often people buckles are done up way too tight that the blood can't circulate. so try losening your buckles

Wear another layer. If your feet/hands are cold, warm up your core and they will warm up too.

well its been around -20 C or -5 F for the last week and my toes havent been cold once, so i quess if the boots fit you well and you have a good sock there should be no problem.

Our lift lines and the time on the lift is shorter tho so i quess the movement keeps 'em warm pretty well too

dude, i battle the same thing. no socks is the only thing that works. your toes aren't cold they are falling asleep from pressure and circulation. seriously, try no socks. make sure your boots are warm. what boot are you in? what size? there could be too much pressure on the sides next to the ball of your foot and that causes them to tingle, fall asleep, and get cold. it's a nasty way to get frostbite and lose toenails - trust me it is noo fun.i switched to a 3 buckle design this year to help minimize pressure on the top of your foot. i went with the new ace of spades and it is the best fitting boot out of the box i have ever had. i will see a bootfitter and put a footbed in for sure. my problem is that good fitters are super far away

then that's what the problem is. when you heat your boots up, the extra heat is making your feet sweat and then they get chilled in the boot because they're wet

For me I have to make sure that I buckle them just right. Sometimes if I buckle a little unevenly it cuts off circulation. Like other people said, thin socks help too.

fuck surefoot. they charge wayyyy too much and i've heard of way too many foot problems from their boots.  i would seriously look into something else.

if you like surefoot or can't get a new pair of boots...  try everything people have already said (thin socks, unbuckling on the lift, taking them off at lunch, etc).  if that doesn't work, look into hotronics.

i know everyone probably knows this but if you wear warmer clothes youre whole body will heat up so try dressing warmer overall.

dont do that cuz when you put them on ur feet will just get sweaty. then once ur outside and they get colder theyll just freeze

Well, sometimes you're just going to be cold, I take a few runs before my hands and feet are warm-ish.

Like one of the people wrote above, it's probably heresy, but no socks seems to work for me. I put on a thin pair if the temps really drop, but I normally keep the boots warm-ish in the car before I put them on, and that's usually sufficient to keep me comfortable.

Also, a quick uphill hike helps to get the circulation going, a couple of the instructors I used to work with made that suggestion.

seriously intuition liner would do the trick

thin socks will also make sure your foots isnt too compressed

a boot that is too big will need to be bucled too tight and will cause toe freeze.

Not completely no, but thin socks are a must and the duct tape would help keep moisture out. Dry feet are warm feet.

my lange WC boots literally have no insulation in the toes.


nothing. the boots fit like a glove, and ski great, but there is NOTHING keeping your toes warm.

not very help full but full tilt boots my feet are always toasty... but back in my race boots my feet got cold alot one of the linings you can do is take the inside liner i used to wrap them in duct tape it worked also i would get boots about a size to big and wear thicker socks not so thick i couldnt move just so that it felt snug also unbuckle your boots!!!!!!!!!! this is like the number one thing that helps. sure foot can usualy help they have worked for me

those are shit inside your boots. they take up extra space and add pressure points to your foot. they are supposed to be activated by air and if you have a properly fitted boot, your shouldn't have that much extra space in your boot.

if you want heaters, pick up some hotronic or thermics

I was VERY skeptical at first, I had the same concerns as you. They work. They work wonders. Your boot shouldn't be pressing hard on the top of your toes anyway, there is room for the warmers. It doesn't even feel weird, the light adhesive keeps them in the right spot too, so they don't get bunched up and stuff. They are activated by air when you open them up and let them sit for a few minutes before you put them in your boots.

This is definitely a "don't knock it till you try it" product. And a great solution for someone who wants warm toes on a cold day.

I've had similar problems in the past- I have bad circulation and after a fucking cold day skiing both big toes were numb hours after I'd gone inside. They then went black and I started to freak out and went to hospital. I wasn't too scared because there was no pain, just hard black skin. After almost having both big toes amputated (thus ending my active life) by a junior doctor who know fuck-all about frostbite, the senior doctor told me it was superficial frostbite, i.e. the skin had died but the flesh was fine.

Anyway, long story short he told me one of the most important things to do to maintain good circulation is hydration. So my advice would be to drink water regularly through the day.
