You really never know how it may affect someone. I know it sounds cliche, but it really can save a life. Last night, a freshman at my school took his own life. He was one of my sisters best friends, and i had seen him with her many times. Although its not 100 percent certain, it's been said by alot of his closest that he had been bullied for a while, and that was the reason he did it. It really is ridiculous. I honestly don't understand how somebody can be so careless about another person that they could treat someone so poorly. I know for a fact that for no reason, a person went up to him a few days ago and just punched him in the face. It really is terrible, i just don't understand people.

I hate sad threads like this, and it seriously angers me that stuff like this even happens, but I really want to spread some sort of awareness. Please NS, just think before you say something mean to someone. The old saying "if you don't have to say anything nice, don't say anything at all" goes a long way, no matter how childish it sounds. You never know how what your saying actually affects the person your speaking too, and being friendly may just save a life.

seriously guys, just think, if you have made fun of someone recently, not friendly teasing, but actualy made fun of someone.  Imagine if that person was to kill himself. you would have that on your mind for the rest of your life. so if your too ignorant to consider someone elses feelings and how you hurt them, just think about how that persons possible suicide could affect the rest of your life.

i don't mean to reprimand you in any way, not looking to start anything

but the honest to god truth is that you tread a fine, fine line when you make a joke at some one else's expense.. you truly never know how what you say might affect someone..

point in case, I made a yo-mamma joke to a kid on my elementary school bus, completely joking, the kid didn't appreciate it, and never talked to me again.
went from sitting next to me every day on the way to school, to keeping as far away as possible.

that might have been 3rd grade, but when joking around, there is a line that can't be crossed
understanding that other people might have different lines than you do, so to speak, will help you make relationships, and avoid critically offending someone on accident.

Some days i'll just look back and wonder why i was an asshole to people in the past. I'm trying to be better about it. Me and my friends are always ripping on each other, but you have to stop and think that not everyone is going to understand that humor. There's this kid that i know who everyone is always saying they hate. He's sometimes a little douchey, but i'm trying to go refrain from jumping in with everyone else and making fun of him. I'm afraid he's going to hear people talking about him one day and take it to heart and off himself or something :\

I don't know why I do it, I've been ripped on so much through the years and I have felt like a depressed fuck up because of it in the past. I really should try to stop judging/hating on others cause it might end badly and i don't want anyone to suffer through any of the feelings I have felt in the past.

yeah vibes man. This happened to a kid at my school. He was kinda suicidal already but the bullying pushed him over the edge. Gotta know when its too much

3 guys killed themselves at a school by my house.. very good friends with my neighbors. gotta Stay nice to people or shit like that happens sometimes. Try tah keep it MN NICE!

Same. My Uncle committed suicide and it was and still is hard to deal with. It's the worst thing that can happen and whenever I hear people jokingly say like "ugh, im gonna kill myself," when complaining about how much hw they have and everything it really bothers me. I always try to be kind to everyone and never say anything mean or make fun of people, like even while joking around with my friends I'm careful of what I say.

I just don't get why bullying isn't getting much more common but suicides are. Are the rash of recent suicides due to bullying inspiring other kids to do the same? Horrible thing to think about, but I'm curious.

Yeah, sadly i can relate to the kid that has gotten ripped on. Last year was a brutal one at school it seemed as if i said one thing that didn't make sense it was lets see how much we can gang up on you and find every little mistake about what you say and harass you for it. Its a joke, people need to learn people make mistakes and that you don't need to kick people when they are down. I know I've done it sometimes just to "fit in" with the rest of my friends doing it. If you notice someone that is getting picked on by saying they need to shut up or that was stupid remark don't be afraid to say something to the person doing that, i would have really appreciated someone sticking up for me when people were doing that. Just watch you say, let your friends know when your joking. Because sometimes they may not know, and take something to heart. +vibes thats really sad.

and remember it works in the inverse manner also.

Don't be afraid to toss a compliment or a good word out there to someone. You never know how much of an impact a few words can have on someone, both positively, and negatively.

abuse, bullying and all that suck

my cousin was abused by her stepfather, she was taken away from the house because she cuts her self, and is actually a bully to other kids, all cause she doesnt know how to deal with being abused.

+vibes to anyone who has had to deal with anything like this, or someone whohas been affected by someone else commiting suicide.

that wasn't the bad part ive had friends die that i could handle but the part i could handle was with his younger sister we were close she was like 12 at the time i think, and like my own litle sister, she called me crying/screaming when she saw him hanging in his room. it was after the sleepless weeks that i realized how selfish it is to kill your self. ive thought seriously about killing my self 3 times but because of that i couldn't its a dick thing to do.
