Any suggestions on how to save time on rendering in FCP 7. I have MPEG stream clip but am not sure what is the best setting to export in. I shot with Go pro hd and another 1080p camera.
Make a new sequence DONT PUT ANYTHING IN IT. Now, put a clip that you want to edit in the timeline. it will prompt you to change the sequence settings. Say yes. Now put music and titles in etc.
Ya i put a clip in and nothing pops up. So i was assuming i had it set to the right sequence presets but it still shows a red bar for rendering both audio and video.
Ive always wondered, how do you match the settings with out doing this process. Im sure theres something through the menus but never spent time looking.
avoid editing in h. 264. it's a difficult codec for your computer to edit with because it's quite complex to code/decode, thus labour intensive. try transcoding to something like apple prores 422 or dvchd pro. I just use apple prores 422 lt, but experiment with that to see whats best.
Ok well i figured out a way that works well for me. I change the clips to pro res, intermediate codec ect. in mpeg streamclip and import to FCP seems pretty simple but i had never tried it ha. Well thanks for the tips.
