im in the same boat bro. i can't do any work if i dont like it.

especially homework. its so bad.

but for me, if i go on http://www.rainymood.com/ it kinda gets me into an easy mood. dubstep doesn't help with studying.

i was good at studying..... and then i discovered wow. but i find that if i take my laptop/books to a coffee shop i'm more likely do actually get work done because i'm less inclined to game in public and there are less distractions.

I just can't get started ever.
I seriously need eat a big meal, shower, find the perfect comfy studying outfit, find all my notebooks and stuff, make tea before I can study. At which point I'm often hungry again so I grab a snack and check fbook/NS while I eat it and get stuck.
But once I start I can go for hours straight with only a couple 5min breaks to go to the bathroom/grab a different textbook. With an energy drink I can pretty well go 8hrs without breaks, without I generally can last 5.

i just procrastinate but when i do shit i crank it out, in the past 2 days i had to study 5 hrs for a midterm, write a 3 page paper, and write 9 page paper, sometimes procrastinating sucks but i had fun before this so fuck it

I have amazing studying skills! I sucked at school so I had to learn how to cram. I can cram up to 8 hrs straight! The stuff I did not understand, I cheated. I graduated top class average in college! Funny thing because I was 2 points away from failing high school.

there was one weekend when i hate to write an 85 page paper (i had been procrastinating all semester). In one day i had 9 red bulls and about half a pack of caffine pills. My heart started racing and just stopped, I was about the reach for the phone when my heart started beating VERY slowly again. I was pretty freaked out after that so now i just drink a ton of coffee :).

this kid drank some redbull and took caffeine pills one morning before school (i'm not sure if that's the exact story.. it's been passed along through many people) but long story short.. he had to run a mile or something in PE and something fucked up happened with his brain/heart.. (i probably shouldnt even be telling this because i'm slaughtering it) ANWAYS he is now mentally challenged to an extent.. people say he has all the same thoughts in his head yet he can't do anything with his motor skills to let them escape

Newschoolers is my study downfall. But I've quickly learned how to study I guess. I just go somewhere else on my campus like the library, and leave my computer in my dorm. Works like a charm. Except writing papers...

yeah you needa be careful with that stuff.
i take adderall sometimes too and i've gotten terrible side affects from it. its addicting and it only helped me at first.. it sometimes still helps if i take more but i can't have any distractions or else i'll get too engulfed in them instead of actually studying.

but i have heart problems now cause of addy. not something to be proud of..
but a warning for you NSers.. don't take adderall, you'll most likely end up abusing it and paying the consequences.

yea i know, im going on day 3 now...
I was mad addicted to it back during junior year of highschool, and the side effects changed me. My personality def changed, and my heart started freaking out after a few months, of doing 70s almost daily.

Ive been bout a year sober, and just started up again, and im not proud of it at all

This shit will cause depression, and can def give you suicidal thoughts... its a fucked up drug, and i would suggest staying away to everyone whos thinking about doing it

the bad side affects aren't worth it. i used to love taking it because i'd get that euphoric feeling but i barely get that anymore unless i take way too much or haven't taken any for awhile..

it gave me cold chills, my skin started turning purplish on my feet, no appetite, couldn't sleep and when i tried my eyes felt like they were vibrating. and if you're coming down from a binge you literally want to kill yourself, it feels worse than being e-tarted after a fun night.

Yeah i had every single one of the effects...
and i know what you mean about that euphoric feeling...
day 3, only felt it for bout 5 min... tomm should be intresting, but im just going to crash at a friends after my 10am IT class...

I cant study for shit..but any other aspect of school work/projects I could bang out like nobodies business because of the sense of accomplishment you can achieve when finishing a paper/homework

Yeah studying is tough for me. Sometimes I get into the flow and can go for hours and other times I can go for 30 minutes and spend 30 minutes distracted. I also have to study at my desk. I can't work at a library, in a different part of my house, or with a friend.

i can never study, i would stare at a wall for 3 hours before i would do 3 hours of solid work. I finally got into the groove of it though my last year or two of college where I would go to the library (open 24 hours/less distractions) at like 10 or 11 (sane people are rolling out/less distractions) and I would stay there and do work until like 3 am sometimes 6 or 7am if i was buried. Lots of coffee, good work environment, not a lot of people there. The cafe closed at 3am so i would take instant coffee bags and a mug with me to make coffee in the microwave.

it's really good if you have actual "add" (i put it in quotes because apparently half the world has it)

many people who take add medicine and don't have add actually get less work done because they just get hyper and talk a fuck ton and do stupid shit (my friend ended up concentrating on beating every level of bloons instead of concentrating on writing his paper)

i have the so called add and had 54mg concerta for it and it really helped me just be a more productive person overall. i don't like the idea of taking pills all the time though so I don't take it anymore/only really took it for a semester or two where I was really struggling.

high school girls used to take it as a diet pill because you don't get hungry all day lol
