Even worse, you (he) are completely useless to those around you should they get caught in an avalanche. It would be a pretty shitty feeling to see your buddies get carried away, and have no way to search for them.
OregonDeadSmart to stay out of avy terrain until after your class. You will want&need to practice using you skins and transitions before the class so you can keep up. Ski area or check with the people putting on your class and they should suggest a place. Rent the beacon probe and shovel for class and then have a better idea what to buy after talking to your instructors.
Big props for investing in avy class!

I was supposed to skin today but it did not happen. So I go up to the mountain and they are having some Ascension race. Take a few runs and the next thing I know I see like 40 folks skinning up the face ofy local Mountain. Lol
6 nights in an airbnb &&&&&
To Rincon, Puerto Rico in march, with some homies for spring break. super excited. I've never been to puerto rico but i've heard rincon is a great time.
Has anybody ever spent time down there?
Well I never thought I would spend this much on a pair of socks, but hopefully they will let me ski non stop without cold feet next pow day and be all worth it.
And the reason I needed them..
And for being a bit more prepared if something happens.

The pussy in Puerto Rico is absolutely incredible. Nothing better.
Doing some winter camping soon so I knew I would need one of these. Hopefully when I get comfortable touring it will really start getting some use. WTF though some bags are super expensive!
First time skiing out west, visiting a buddy and skiing Snowbird for two days
You’re gonna have a blast. Cottonwoods just got nuked with snow, pretty sure snowbird is well over 400” on the season and it’s mid February. Be sure to drink a ton of water to combat altitude sickness. I get light headed every time I go up LCC. Have fun dude! Snowbird is one of my favorite places to ski.
Skittle.^as an Alta skier for the last 21 yrs, you're in for a good time. We're having what we'd call a "good average year"
If this year is considered a “good average year” I couldn’t imagine what a “great” or “historic” season would be in Utah.
Are those like 750”+ years? Is every other day a powder day? Seems like all my friends out there have had blower pow days as least once a week this year. Alta/bird looks all time.
I really hope people do some wicked shit in grizzley gulch this spring. It’d be really cool to see some of these younger crews get a chads session going.

We've gotten much more snow so far this season than all of last and its still apparently just an average year. Ive had about 12 pow days of over a foot this season. New storm brewing this weekend it looks like in both canyons
Was going to get some new pant, but hard to pass up this jacket with a 50% discount. Hopefully this jacket will last allot longer than my previous Sweet gore tex jackets.
