haha is that right? dont make such bold claims when you dont know shit about my musical knowledge.
dont meant to sound cocky, but i seriously doubt your middle statement. for many reasons
and funny thing is, i have done quite a bit of stuff around producing (i wont go into it, but trust me).
sparknotes: fuck you and your limited musical knowledge. there are so many other artists out there that are more talented than bassnectar, especially in the dubstep genre (i wont name any of them, i doubt you'll know who they are.)
no no no, thats what i thought you thought haha. I produce and DJ dubstep, I'm pretty familiar with the structure of it. Just when you said he uses dubstep as sub bass, I thought you meant he uses a wobble and that all dubstep was to you haha.
if you look on page one, I talk about the 1-3 beats with syncopated beat that make up dubstep.
I think were talking about the same thing, just misunderstanding each other. haha it's really hard to understand other people when talking about electronic music because everyone uses differnt names for the same thing.
so as long as you don't think an LFO acting on an LPF makes any song a dubstep song, were cool haha and also filth =/ dubstep either.
Its really hard to know what people actually know whats up because so many people talk about it like they do. Especially in boulder it fuckin sucks haha I'll start talking about dubstep and everyone within a 50 ft radius asks me if I like rusko hah. I'm stoked for everyone to get over it so that way when you talk to someone about it, you'll know they actually know what they are talking about.
dubstep originating from 2 step beat. 140 bpm. All that stuff.
At a rave I heard a chick ask when they would start playing dubstep, because she really likes dubstep.
They had been playing dubstep for the past like hour, it just wasn't a filthy teeth grinding mess so she had no idea.
considering the amount of threads about dubstep that I've seen lately I don't think people will ever get over it. Except if they switch to glitch hop, which I think i'd like even less.
Anyways if you have any tracks up I'd be down with checking them out.
haha yeah girls especially have no idea wtf is going on.
From now on, if people ask for dubstep Im just gonna play only skream and like super mellow stuff haha It would be so confusing.
I think glitch-hop is dying. I think crunk-house is gonna be the next big thing probably not enough people like dubstep, but everyone gets down to electro house. Throw some little wayne over that shit, and all of Boulder creams themselves.
I don't have any tracks out. I'm still in horrible horrible learning stages where everything I do sounds like shit. I'm trying to put a set together right now, so I should be able to get a mix outa that at least, and I will def. put it on NS if/when it gets done.
I'm a full time electrical engineering student so I dont have much free time at all and the free time i do have, I mostly only have energy to stare at the wall blankly ha.
Ha, yea send them bassnectar - creation lullaby for some pump up music.
I've never even heard the term crunk house until now, but just cause of the name it probably will.
Theres not too much trend following where I'm from so it's pretty chill, but from the way you describe boulder I bet it gets annoying as fuck.
Yea the best I can do is a drum loop and a shitty wobble with no lfo changes that just repeats itself, but I'm working on something thats apperently not too bad. I'm just bad at starting songs, and I have no idea how to make a build up.
Definitely put it up on ns when you're done though.
Where I live we get names like "stickybuds, subvert, glitchy n scratchy, excision, downlink" and a bunch of locals, definetly a sweet place to be.
Theres also a bar that always has amazing headliners but I can't quite go into bars yet.
I usually get really hyped about tracks, but then I get bored in under half an hour and quit. So yea. Definitely frustrating. Plus I can never get the bass I want.
yeah for sure man thats super cool. I'm gettin kind of sick of the dub scene here, but at least I can go see a dope show every weekend if I want ha.
Yup sounds about right
Not making just figuring out when to trigger/ whats the sickest transition. Might turn it into a mashup, but Id rather just leave it as part of the mix. I don't really want to get into makin mashups. kinda the dark side imo haha
It pisses me off when people listen to dubstep through shitty laptop speakers or through their itouch/phone built-in speakers or through just bad headphones, since it's really hard to listen to that way. You can tell that they're just following the trend. Fuck.

Anyways, hoping to make it up to Shambhala next year, sounds like a blast and a half.
Also thinking of going as Inspector Dubplate for Halloween this year, thoughts?
