Because every award that level 1 won should have gone to a more deserving crowd. I seriously hope the judges are joking. Let me go through this and state MY OPINION*

Best Jib Flick- NO! Stadaconé was amazing and based solely on the urban scene in Québec! WTF

Best Teaser- Wow, really. Just watch the What's in the fridge?, Come Find Us, Gunnie Season, or the other trailers. Mucho better

Best Cinematography- Yikes, a typical level one "all really plain shots of good skiers throwing down on good features because level 1 has the connections to get them." wins? Cinematography ≠ what the shots are of, thats best flick. Cinematography is about the composure of the shots, variety, editing, and other things. Level 1 has never excelled in this, their shots are very plain compared to others. Gunnie season, ALL IN, Out of the Shadows, and Punch Line all had better cinematography. I mad.

Best Male Skier- JF Houle or Logan I. Enough said.

and i was not at if3, but personally i love level 1. i would vote for their stuff too. but it should never be like that. i wasn't at if3 and i haven't read the news about it because it makes me too sad to read because i am only 5 hours drive away and totally could have gone. but if you are saying that level 1 won the majority of awards (or just more than anyone else. or if you are saying that they should only have changed those in the op, then disregard this post) but if thats the case, then it kinda makes the awards seem less legit. Level 1 is like the twilight movies and park skiers are like teenage girls.

and all this talk is ludicrous! level 1's always had some of the best cinematography imo. they don't do all the cliché ski angles, they always get a fresh perspective. i love seeing their big mountain shots, it's such a nice departure from the MSP/TGR way.
i have yet to see eye trip though, but i can only imagine it's better than previous years, since that seems to be the trend in their videos.
also how was their teaser not the best? i suppose that's subjective, but it certainly got me the most excited to see their movie out of the rest. i will give it to PBP though, that electronic track really pumped some shit up in their teaser.

so in conclusion, Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!

I'm not gunna say the cinematography was bland. I just wish Ski movies would make it more into a "movie" with themes and stuff. To keep you more entertained through out the film, and to have more of a story behind it, rather then just beats and skiing. But that goes to all ski films, not just level 1. Now of days there are just to many good skiers and filmers on NS releasing killer edits. I just feel being at a professional level you got to distinguish your movies far from the ordinary level, making the story line well thought out and putting alot of time into constructing the plot. Once again this isn't pointing at Level 1, Level 1 is still for sure my favorite and the reason why I love skiing/filming now, this is to most every ski movie Ive seen

on a serious note, i'm flattered that you would think that i should have been up for this, but in reality there is no way. i haven't seen the movie yet, but i got to see some of ahmet's shots, and there is no way that my two weeks of riding with freedle in any way even remotely compares to a full season of working his ass off and producing an amazingly well rounded segment. ahmet was an animal last season, and he deserved that award more than anyone.

Haha, well Berman definitely got hated on a while back when he overused the infamous "Shrubbery in the foreground" -shot from Forward to Shanghai Six. I do that too on occasion, but I think he has evolved and produces quality shots without the need for gimmicks, same goes for Freedle and Decker.
