I think they deserve to win, they're always pulling off a great show with some of the most creative stuff I've ever seen. They actually produce more episodes than the other webseries which is awesome IMO.

thread jack! Yay Traveling Circus, you guys work your ass off to produce the best, most entertaining episodes for skiers and deserved to win big time. Everyone else had great episodes too and congrats on the win! Very proud and you should be too! Thanks for voting Newschoolers!

haha really...your pathetic alias with 1 post doesn't think Traveling Circus doesn't deserve to win...amazing. Well, no disrespect, but most well-rounded? I think if something is judged as the best then everything should be taken into account - filming, editing, creativity, locations, effort and tricks. That just ain't true in this case. Here I post with balls, it did not deserve to win.

As a series of two seasons, Traveling Circus is amazingly entertaining and as a whole it could maybe take the cake, but that episode just didn't cut it against some of the competition. I know you film mostly park yourself so this is nothing against you, Duncan.

TC deserved to win, but I think Nipwitz and TC is pretty equal.. Nipwitz has the unbelievable urbans, and TC has the sick creative stuff.. Hah, imagine those two making a webisode series, would be hella sweet

I know you probably love Nipwitz Mike-O, and I mean absolutely no disrespect, because personally I truly enjoy what the Nipwitz crew is doing so much. They have some really innovative stuff going on with their style and clearly are doing some amazing shit. Obviously, they are doing something a bit different than the Traveling Circus crew; but, when you look at the single episodes that were actually voted into the IF3 festival by NS users, I personally felt that the Traveling Circus episode was a bit stronger than the Nipwitz episode (apparently so did the crowd).

We all have our differences in opinion, but, in my opinion, when you watch the actual episodes that were voted in by NS, it seems that TC's quality was a bit higher overall (yes I'm aware that a lot of it was shot in the park). It is tough for me to say that because I think it would definitely make a statement if Nipwitz had won best webisode because of their creativity in absolutely all aspects. Of course you could debate all night long whether a season recap can truly stand up to a single webisode.

I know, it's really not going to affect my life no matter who won. I just thought that the cave hopping and other stuff, while bringing out personalities of the riders, didn't really fit the tone of what this should be about. To me it's like giving Trick Of The Year to Pollard for a clean headshot in paintball. But no more opinions from me.

Alas, every finalist and rider included got their name out there and that's the most important thing!

I'd have to disagree. I would say Chug Life is by FAR clearly the best well rounded.



Stoked for the circus and even more stoked for season 3. I just hope they got shots of Will snaking campers to get first in the dinner line every day.

Nipwitz should have won. Those guys are absolutley amazing, and the websodes are always the best edited. not not mention that the Nipwitz are, by far, the most skilled a.m. skiers ever. ever.

Okay, I just gotta ask you, what about the people who "ski bum" by working for money and afford to rent a place and then shred all night/days off to get great urban/bc/park shots, only to wake up early and earn some more to live in the morning? What the hell does road tripping and peanut butter have to do with winning an award?

im not hating on nipwitz but tc makes it seems more road trip like than nipwitz like how they film themselves just hanging out/doing dumb things but not as dumb as chug.
on a scale of skiing/lifestyle mixed it goes like this
Skiing Skiing/Lifestyle Pam/Pan
Nipwitz TC Chug

im not saying nipwitz has no ski bum vibe but tc captures it better

nipwitz episode was a compilation of all there footage of the year and TC's was a big 2 week rally with everyone together (Max & Cole never met everyone else before then) which produced some very progressive riding and entertainment.

the category was 'best episode' so in the true form of an episode TC wins! Niptwitz was sick but it's like comparing a highlight reel to an actual game. Correct me if I'm wrong. Great to see web series get some love.

In case you missed it, there were four (4) Nipwitz episodes during the season, updating everytime they came out with enough banger footage. No "compilations" of their whole year. I mean, Josh, what the FUCK are you talking about?

I think that everybody is missing the point. The webisodes that we all love watching were recognized at the industry's biggest "Film" festival. That's pretty damn cool. Since when did every aspect of skiing have to be some sort of contest? Must we always debate about which film was the best, whose segment was the best, etc? Why can't we enjoy the fact that with a wide variety of ski films and web episodes to watch, we have access to countless different and unique portrayals of skiing. Skiing is whatever you want it to be and it means something different to everybody. Every skier has a unique view of world that they participate in, and every film crew paints a different picture. I love watching the Nipwitz guys, I love watching TC, and I love watching Chug. Why? Because they all remind me of how goddamn great it is to be a skier. That's the reason we make and watch ski films and edits, not to recieve some short-lived, arbitrary recognition.

after re watching those...yep..i was wrong, i think the final voice overs is what got me confused. sorry! Episode 4 was awesome and that guys misty 5 over the hip was totally sweet! Well all the features were pretty sweet.

Nipwitz is definitely sick, but I feel that TC was deserving of the win because of the awesome vibe it sends out that makes me want to ski, each of their personalities and weird humor, and some crazy, creative shit that they do even though most of it is in the park. I also like their music choices haha

I see what your saying. The vibe in TC is deff super fun. But if you could catagorize a vibe as "pure fuckin dope", Nipwitz would win. The editing, the music, the style is different and progressive every single time.

This man...time after time he speaks the truth in such simple ways. Maybe the big problem with the finalists is that they were all very, very different: one entry was about cave hopping and park skiing, one about frying pans (etc.), this other one was mostly about pipe skiing while one focused on crudely filmed "ha-ha" jokes in Scandinavia. Then there was one that had a large focus on well-executed urban with filming and editing in focus by one of the guys I most respect in our sport.

So yeah, there is always some kind of bias but I hope many of you realize that awards or not, we all share the same dreams and hopes of accomplishments in this strangely afflicting hobby, where we either slide handrails in ciry centers or drop of the highest possible peaks unto gnarly lines. I'm a stubborn bastard so getting into that state of mind is diffciult, but I'm trying my best.

This is really my last post in this thread as my karma is burning down like tall grass in a wildfire...
