Starting to ski

ive been snowboarding since i was about 5, and just recently i really want to start skiing. should i start now(already in highschool) or just stay with snowboarding

I have tried both and found that skiing was very easy for me. it probably depends on the person though. try skiing for a day at the mountain and see how it goes. hope this helps.

Very true i switched from snowboarding to skiing (also in high school) after many years, and i did a rail in the mini park, and then brought it to the regular park son!

i have a friend who was sick at snowboarding..wanted to try skiing so he borrowed someones gear. First run ever he was doing rails..it was pretty awesome i'd have to say. I think you'd pick up pretty easily

Do both, they are both really fun.

IMO skiing is harder to pick up than snowboarding but if you can already board it will make learning to ski way easier and vice versa

toe turns are just like tele turns.
I know a few people that have switched from snowboard immediately to tele.

Definitely come over to skiing! Its fun to ski, plus you get such an awesome community like this one, which as far as I know doesn't have much of a counterpart in snowboarding.

The other thing is there's no harm in diversifying... I mean I know a bunch of guys who will ski or snowboard depending on the day. Riding a snowboard in deep powder can be a ton of fun... just like going extremely fast on skis is quite a rush.

There's differences to the two sports, and each one is fun for slightly different reasons.

However, yeah take up skiing. I absolutely love this sport, as does every person on here.
