Top Gear Stig Identity finally revealed.

Been a recent court case with BBC over this - anyway, today it was finally revealed to be (as many had actually speculated)...Ben Collins - sick racing driver and stuntman.... 

It's a shame really because the whole point of the stig was the mystery.... anyway - here's the story in full...

I'm a little confused too, but I think it's to do with Ben Collin's Autobiography.  The publishers launched a legal case against the BBC to reveal that it was him as the stig - probably because it would increase his booksales 5 fold if it came out... the BBC obviously wanted to keep it a secret. My understanding is it was a battle between publishers harpercollins and the BBC.

Yeah, they'll probably have to kill him off in some crazy stunt haha.  Why do the Stigs have to keep writing autobiographies!?!?

Because once you become the Stig you are at max level, there is nothing more to accomplish except telling everyone about it.

That's kinda what i got out of it. Personally (not that it matters) that pisses me off that the publisher couldn't just put that he "may or may not be the Stig" because in his autobiography it's not like he hasn't done a thousand other cool things. Way to fuck the best television show about vehicles on the planet.
It's sorta like the "Ghost Rider" or whatever that dude in all Black on the modded 'Busa was doing in Europe. To be quite honest i don't wanna know who that guy is. He can keep on being a bad ass.
