Thats not really a ski resort. Its a hotel that near a ski resort. But yea Ive stayed there before. No ghost experiences or sightings. The Shining was filmed there not sure if it said that in the article or not. Its a dope ass hotel though for sure.

I stayed overnight one night because it was snowing suuuuper hard and I couldn't get home. One of the groomer guys came down and said he saw some lady walking up the hill in a dress and almost hit her. We all said he was full of shit, mostly because he was drunk, but then our boss proceeded to tell us about how she used to have a house at the top of the hill, and now roams around..haunting the fuck out of everything.

This story was passed on to me, so I will relay it as I was told.

Apparently my buddy's friend was riding up the lift late one day, listening to music and taking in the view. He had gotten on alone, as there was not many people left on the mountain. Then he noticed that someone was on the lift, and he figured he didn't notice they had gotten on the lift (six person chair) with him. The first thing he noticed was the old ski gear, and he asked the woman how her day was going. She replied that she was having a very fun day, and they continued small talk.

So the lift got to the top and the kid went to say good-bye to the woman but she had already gotten off the lift, so he skied down and hopped in his car for home. Apparently, when he got home he was eating dinner and reading the paper and read an article about a woman who was killed on that very day 40 years ago after skiing into a tree, and he looked at the picture and it was the woman he was riding up the lift with.

Ive seen/ heard the tap dancer at the green mountain inn at stowe, when it was dumping at night i've heard stories from lifties and ski patrol at alta and snowbird seeing ghosts ski down mineral at like 6 in the morning or seeing random tracks just appearing after a huge dump

My friend broke his hand and had to get surgery, after undershooting a backflip (its actually in the windells crash video session 3!). Later on in the day he came back and told us the news. I asked him if he talked at silent rock, and he responded..."What's silent rock???"

more like the 873 story. Super creepy.

I'm a sucker for a good ghost story. That and I've worked at a few resorts one of which was supposedly haunted... so it creeps me out a bit.

Back in the day when i went to windells, me and my friends who were all immature at the time would always talk through silent rock just for the sake of it. You should have seen some of the kids faces on the bus, even the bus drivers would be in shock, one dude actually got really pissed at us. It was pretty funny and nothing bad ever happened to us.

i went to windells for 2 sessions, didnt know about silent rock and talked during it on the last day of the first session... first day of the second session i overshoot a jump doing a 7 anf tear my mcl.

dont talk when passing silent rock

silent rock is this huge boulder/pile of boulders on the side of the road that goes to the top of mt hood. it was just a big rocky outcropping thing and they had to blast through it to build the road.

i dont remember the story, but i guess some construction workers were killed there in an accident when they built it. there is a local nitve legend thing behind it too, i dont know the details of. also, tim windell, the founder of windells summer camp, also apparently gapped over the road to silent rock. but nobody can seem to say weather or not that is true.

anyways, if you talk while driving through it, or leave the music on, you will get bad luck.

while i was at windells we forgot to turn the music off in our van while we were driving up, and this RV ran us completely off the road.
