Unlike the majority of NS, i'm not too much of a rap/hip hop/techno/dubstep guy. (no hate).

Just thought I'd share this band with everyone who likes rock music and anyone whos open to all genres. Their called the Arkells, out of hamilton,Ontario from Mcmaster univeristy.

They're only put out one album so far two years ago and its one of the few ive listened to where every song is as solid as the next back to front. They finally started blowing up in Canada just last year.

they play alot of shows in canada, dont hesitate to go see them, they play a killer set even though they only have one cd out.

You should love it. I went to their Calgary show last year and it was lots of fun. There was a good variety of people there and the band was interacting with the crowd really well. And Tokyo Police Club should just add to the awesomeness.

As to the comment that they aren't anything new- I agree but it doesn't really bother me. The music is solid and the songs are catchy and easy to sing along with. They're kinda at the level where I would buy their album, but only if I found it for <12$

pretty sick, surprised i haven't heard of them since i live in GTA
they have a familiar sound to me, i just can't place who they sound like.

yah, they put out an album two years ago and it never really blew up til this year. They played burlington water front festival with Dean Lickyer in front of 12,000! it was free too!

another really good band i found by going to a Jet show.  They opened for Jet and i found myself liking them way more then the headliners haha.

This band is composed of piano, bass and drums.  They really kill it and the singer has such a good voice its unreal.  This is just one of their songs, look up the rest and be sure to hear their cover of "War Pigs".  amazing
