Where do I mount Line Chronics

Ok so I want to buy a park ski i was thinking the afterbangs but i was told that they are soft and therefore not good on the east coast..so im pretty sure im going to go with the line chronics now.. I ride about 65% park the rest of the time i mix it up around the mountain..I read a thread where someone said even if u ride 50% park u are gonna want to get ur bindings center mounted.. but the chronics arent meant to be that way are they?? I think they are meant to be 1-2 cm back from center..they also said u will regret not center mounting ur skis if u want to progress in the park at all.. so can i mount the chronics 1 cm back and do u think that will effect things for me either way?? Good or bad .. Im just looking for a little advice if anyone can help out thanks ..and what kind of bindings would go will with these skis??

First of all, any park specific binding should work great. The Salomon STH bindings are great, it's a line of three different bindings raging from relatively cheap to relatively expensive. Give the Salomon STH 12's a look, I don't think you'll need anything with a higher din. If you're worried about it just upgrade to the STH 14's. Also, what year of Chronics are you looking at because I know the specifications have changed a little over the years, I'm pretty sure that just getting them mounted at core center as opposed to true center will be a nice mount regardless of the specifications.

No sth 12's are the devil z toes suck ass.
The chronic mounting point is -6 from true center but if you spending only 65% of your time in the park -2 would be a good place to mount them.

Now bindings since we don't know your weight or din i am only going to recommend you bindings in a low category.

Px 12's a little heavy but a bomber bindings
Sth 12's-14's !WITH A DRIVER TOE!
Marker griffon's are pretty great but wont last you a really long time like the others.
P12, fks12, fks 14, p14. These have turntable heel pieces.

I weigh about 178lbs.. so is -6 on the chronics is that close to center i mean how does that compare to where a traditional ski is mounted .. and u said i woulod be good at -2 is that further towards the tail ??

When i say -2 i mean from true center of the the ski -6 would be a more traditional mount.

What din do you ride?

Ok so what ur trying to say is if zero is the center of the ski -2 is 2cm back and -6 is 6 cm back from center ...my skis last year are set to DIN 6...so u think if i set them at -2 i would regret it for park?..cus thinking abiout it im in there prob 75% but i really want a ski thats not shit on there ...

If you are from the east coast you are probably hitting a lot of rails and not as many jumps. The afterbangs are a fantastic ski for rails and them being soft is probably better for you.

Also the afterbang is symmetrical, therefore meant to be mounted center. When it is mounted center it will not affect your skiing as much as a ski that is not symmetrical mounted at center.

Well i actually do more jumps then rails but i want to start doing more rails too..i was settled on the afterbang and then i was told i needed a firmer ski.. so i switched to chronic but i was concerned that i couldnt mount it center .. and im sure with the A bangs ill get used to being center ...more then i would mounting a ski center thats meant to be mounted -6 ..ur right about that.. so u think the afterbangs are the right choice then/??
