Pushing a relationship

Made this in ask a girl cult but figured no one would look at it.  Advice will be thanked

I've been getting fed up with being single and I've found someone that I like but I feel like it won't work.  Would you rather be told that you don't think it will work or just let it go?

Also, I've had relationships with people and I really don't feel like I connect with them.  So far I haven't had one girl that truely understood how much skiing meant to me.  And I haven't found someone that I can really connect with about skiing.  Is it best to just wait it out and hope that I find someone skiing or something?

Just go for it, and if it doesn't work, then move on.  Most girls will not understand how much you care about skiing, so unless you find an awesome skier chick, you'll probably have to compromise a little bit.

why would skiing stop you from connecting with girls? you cant spend ALL your time skiing if you have a girlfriend anyways

I say go for it. Don't let skiing dictate who you feel like you can and cannot date.

A lot of people tell their significant other that "Skiing was here before you, and it will be here after you."

While that is true, you have to be willing to make sacrifices somewhere along the line for them, but if they understand how much it means to you, that's a HUGE plus.

I say go for it. If it falls through, at least you know.

I don't know. Relationships are a commitment and take up time.  If it's not going to be a steady relationship it seems like it'd be better to just not go into it

Thanks for all the advice guys! Stoked to actually get good responses.  I don't even know what would make me happy.  I feel like I've been slipping into depressive moods way too frequently and just don't know what to think.  My mind tends to shut down when I try to think of what to do and I just can't think of anything.

It's your choice. You just got to ask yourself do you really want to make or take time for a relationship. If the answer is no then plainly don't do it. But if will make or take time go for it.

man i feel ya iv been going threw the same thing the past month or so, find something to keep you occupied treat you job like your love and be happy with everything you do. we feel sad/depressed all the time its the way people are look up think right and do what you think is right ALWAYS.

and dont let anyone put you in a depresive mood no matter what is happening, good luck man.

I read this and I thought of it as an asshole response but I totally agree with it.  All relationships are is stupid shit that fucks with your mind.  But on another note, there's more to girls than pussy.  But truely it shouldn't matter now.

Some good advice goin on here.

One thing I would advise is to not let skiing affect your decision on whether or not to pursue her. I mean, if she HATES skiing, then fuck it. She won't be worth it. But I've been in a relationship with my girlfriend for 3.5 years. By now she has some idea how important skiing is to me, but at first she just accepted that it was important to me and left it to me.

And as someone said before, just go for it. Lay your moves down and see if she picks it up
