Hi,
I am from Norway and I plan to come to Utah, preferably Snowbird or Alta for 4-5 weeks this winter and need a place to stay. Do anyone of you have any tips for where I can find an affordable place to stay? Any websites?
I appreciate the help.
Thanks,
thorsan

You probably won't be able to find an affordable place in Alta and I'm pretty sure you only get to live at snowbird if you work there. Your best bet for cheap lodgings would be to get a room at a motel in salt lake or try to find someone who'd let you crash at their place.

work at the goldminer's daughter lodge at alta. you get a room and food, get to ski alta and you have a job.

for that short of a time period i would suggest finding a room at a house in the sandy/cottonwood heights area and riding the bus everyday

Try to find a University of Utah housing website and check out Craigslist.com. There are bound to be some students who are trying to sub-let during winter break.

I'm also planning on moving there in October-ish and have been scrolling through craiglisted apartments in Sandy and Cottonwood. What's the deal with that area? Is it pretty decent? It seems to be either that or dorm-style living on mountain if you work for them... and unless the dorms are sweet I'd probably rather pass on those.
