What idiot thought it would be a great idea to build a mosque near or on Ground Zero!? I'm not opposed to Islam in any way but goddamn you would think any guy with half a brain could figure out it would cause a huge shit storm?

Speaking of which, why don't they build the mother of all worshipping buildings; a common place that Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, Jews, and every other major religious group can go to? but really, they should be allowed to build it. However, even with permission, it's not wise to build it. It's going to be vandalized to no end, if there's ever a problem at it, you know the cops are going to respond slowly.. things like that.

You know the guy who bought this property, a waiter, paid for it with a 4.8 million dollar check. I was jsut watching the news, they're trying to chase this guy asking where he got the money but he won't say anything except that "he has backers". mhmm...

Just saw something online about this which may or may not be true but apparently the PROPERTY that the Imam wants to build this on has the building currently there (which he owns) that makes up like a quarter to a third of. The rest of the property... is owned by someone else who is still debating letting him use it.

This mosque is backed by people rich off American oil assets in the middle East. It does look like a ploy to cause conflict to me.

By stirring more hatred towards Muslims and spreading more "terrorist" propaganda and fear we are distracted from what is really going on and the rulers of the american empire can continue to rape/pillage so on and so forth.

The only way to diffuse this plan is to not let it spread hatred, but love. Embrace your differences and fucking get a clue.

That rich Saudi is a businessman, I doubt he'd be keen on investing in NBC, the man is in business to actually make money. News Corp is the most profitable news corporation in the US. I do admit it creates a strange conflict of interest with Fox, but I've never been that keen on Fox News anyway.

In the grand scheme, 500k is squat compared to the 100 mil it would cost to build the thing. Therefore, calling that rich Saudi a main financier is bullshit.

Why did you infer that Alwaleed is the main financier in the first place? He is A financier, with a particularly interesting story behind him, given Fox's demonization of those who support the center.

Robert Spencer holds a photo of airplane parts that crashed through the roof of the Burlington Coat Factory (site of the controversial mosque) on 9/11. The fact that the building had to be abandoned due to damage sustained on 9/11 makes it part of “Ground Zero”. It is 600 feet from the site of the Twin Towers.

You used the UK as an example of a country who "rolled out the red carpet" to Muslims and therefore, there was the 2005 London bombings. You do realize that the London bombings were in response to the UK's involvement with the war in Iraq, as in they were at war with the people they "rolled out the red carpet" for. Islam did not bring it upon themselves at all, you can by no means group regular everyday Muslims with the extremists. By that rationale, all Americans are terrorists (see Oklahoma City Bombings). Have you ever read the Qur'an? Or what it says about Jihad? Jihad is not an outright war with everyone who doesn't believe. Instead, its a holy war within yourself. Some people just interpreted it differently, and now people like you believe that everyone who can speak arabic should be shot. And just by saying fuck off, shut up, you don't know what you're talking about does not make your point valid at all.
