Sending out vibes...

Maybe some people don't believe in sending vibes to people. I'm all about it, and I really do believe it helps.


The reason I made this thread was... I wanted to send some vibes to all the people who have or are having suicidal thoughts. It could be somebody you don't know, or your best friend. Maybe it's you. I stuggled with it years ago and still have some depression sometimes. The reason I'm bringin this up is that I've had a few friends struggle with this in the last few months alone. I think it would be cool if people just sent all of these people out some vibes to try to help them pull through and encourage them. I've had friends that didn't get the help they needed soon enough and they ended their lives.

I know I post a bunch of stupid threads on here late night. I just had a friend reach out to me for help tonight when I was walking home, and it really got the issue stirring in my mind again. Take the effort and help some body out.

this. for me in grade 6, because kids were bullying me, but then i finally got to myself and beat the shit out of the kid and he never ever bugged me again

Yea i had a roomate last fall that tried to end his life off our back porch by hanging himself. I totally know what you are going through and its something that vibes and ppl being there for each other can definitely change

this is an awesome thread man, I give you mad respect for putting yourself out there. I'm have diagnosed depression, and this shit sucks sometimes. You feel alone and miserable, and let me tell all of you that haven't experienced what i have gone through, there's nothing better than having a friend there to boost your spirits up. Most of the time they don't even realize how much they mean to you, but man those friends are your saving grace when you feel like shit.

If anyone needs a pal, a buddy, or someone to talk to, I'm definitely here for you guys. I have first hand experience and I'm more than willing to listen to you vent and give you a shoulder to cry on. Because I want that kind of person to be there for me if i'm ever in their situation.

for sure dude, props for making a thread on it. i had pretty severe depression a while ago. and it sucks. bad. it was when i was moving from england to new zealand, so also i had no friends to talk to about it. and as you and 1337 said, friends are essential when shit hits the fan. i never had suicidal thoughts, but i certainly went through some very rough times. mad vibes to anyone out there going through anything. and remember, if you feel alone, dont. because there are other people out there just like you

I had suicidal thought when i was a kid, shit sucked but I had a friend or two who helped me through it. I also had a friend in HS who did end his life. He had a depressing away message on AIM all the time, but one day it was worse than the rest. He ended it with, "Someone end my life before I do it myself" None of our friends saw it that night and the next morning he was dead. If you see any of your friends showing signs of suicide talk to them immediately . Let them know its not worth it and life gets better. Having someone there to help you trough it is the biggest help in that time. And if you are that person with those thoughts, know that it is not worth it because there are people who love you in this world and know they would be devastated to not have you in it.

Best friend was on suicide watch for a while. Its scary stuff. Just be there for people. Positive vibes to everyone.

If you are reading this thread and are down and thinking about ending it, don't. Go get help, talk to someone. Then shred an ill fuckin line when it snows.

legit thread. i havent had any friends who have considered suicide (that i know of), but two of my friend's friends attempted suicide together, and he was pretty crushed. so to all of you suffering depression or sucidal thoughts, +mucho vibes oh, and inb4 meth_time says something offensive yet only slightly funny

ya a kid i used to hang out with recently tried to hang himself. he went into therapy and now he's all better, I'm just really happy that his suicide attempt failed, it wolda sucked because now he actually enjoys life again.

Aside from just sending out vibes, also treat everyone with decency and respect, even if you cannot stand them, think they are ugly, dorky, nerdy, or whatever. You never know what might send someone over the edge, and you do not want to have that hanging over your head.

When I was in elementry school, my friends and I were pretty fuckin mean to a couple kids at school. Later on, when we were all in high school, like grade 11 or something, these kids still went to the same school as we did, but since we matured and whatnot we didnt pick on them anymore. like we didnt hang out with them every day type of thing but we would have little chats every once and a while.

One time, one of the kids we were mean to confessed to me and told me that back in the day he hated us, he said he would get home and just feel like pure shit because of how we acted towards him. This broke my heart, I can't deal with the fact that I made these guys miserable at one point. No matter how hard I tried to justify it by thinking shit like "oh we were just kids, we didnt mean to hurt them" and "oh its ok cus we're nice to them now and they're cool", it still haunts me to this day and I keep thinking what if one of these kids had decided to end his life because of us, that shit is not cool at all. Like when this guy was telling me this stuff, he was actually pulling out legit quotes, word for word, that we said that made him feel like crap.
Now I try to be nice to every single person I talk to, because I realized that one thing you say, can actually have a big impact on someone's life.

I learned my lesson though, and I guess it's all in karma's hands at this point. Do not underestimate the power of words; while a few words can make someone feel like pure shit, a few different words can really brighten someones day. Sorry about the huge fuckin post, just something I had to get off my chest I guess.

For  sure. It sucks to think that I didn't used to do that. I treat everyone with respect now. I see so many people bitching about and making fun of people. It just doesn't do anything for me. I believe in karma.  Not in the sense of trying to do stuff for people so that you get hooked up in the end but more so just to make somebody elses day a little bit better. It really makes a big difference when you turn somebody's horrible day around with something simple or have somebody do the same for you.

I've heard plenty of stories(nobody that I knew) where somebody did something small for somebody that looked like they were having a rough time and it made a huge difference for them.  A couple that had been planning on killing themselves later that day and it was enough to change their mind.

Me and a bunch of my friends did this thing with ribbons, I think it was a happening around the world. We heard about it and thought it sounded really cool. basically the idea was to go out and buy a bunch of blue #1 ribbons, You gave it to somebody that meant something to you and told them why you thought they were special and some of the things you really appreciated about them.  It sounds a little bit cheesy I'll admit. But it really made a difference to people to here that somebody cared about them and appreciated the things they've done. One guy who participated in this, I can't remember where had one of the coolest stories for the whole thing that I heard. He was struggling to have a good relationship with his son. He was working a bunch and I think just wasn't finding the time or taking the time. He took the chance and gave one of the ribbons to his son and spent a little bit of time telling him how much he loved him, the things he liked about him, and that he was sorry he hadn't done a better job spending time with him. His son broke down crying and eventually told him that he was going to kill himself after his dad and mom went to bed,  Something as corny as a blue ribbon but with taking the time to show a person that he cared might have just saved a life right there.

I just can't stand the people that seem to go out of their way to make people day worse. There really is no reason for it. I guess it just doesn't make sense to me, even though it happens all the time

Awesome thread man thank you. I've been on both sides here, a while ago I almost ended up killing myself simply because I had been doing a lot of ketamine, my ex broke up with me even though we got back together after this happened. She had found out I was snorting k and I had to bring her home cause she was extremely pissed and then after dropping her off and having her tell me how much she hated me I left, smoked a j and decided to get on the highway on my way home and go 125ish into a tree. I got right off the highway after that thought and when I went home I charged my phone cause it had died and there was a text from her saying how she never wanted to speak to me/see me ever again and that I was useless and things like that so luckily I hadn't gotten that when I was driving because that would have made me actually do it.

About a month and a half ago a friends brother took his life. He never grieved never cried just played off that it didn't matter and he was fine. About 2 weeks ago I get a call saying that he had tried to kill himself by running the car in the garage but ran out of gas after a while and decided to go fill it up. He was so lightheaded from the carbon monoxide that he had a hard time driving and ended up hitting a police officer and dragging him about 50 feet. Luckily the officer was fine and the friend didn't die but he got put on suicide watch at the hospital and that shit was just crazy...

Just remembered this is my 1337 post haha and I'm glad it went to a meaningful thread rather than just being "first!"

i had to talk my best friend out of it in the spring. it really was rough. the part that really bothered me was that he was having a really rough time in the winter, but he never let me know, and he said it was because i was never home on the weekend (i ski from friday- sunday) so he never had the time to tell me in person...i felt like the most selfish person in the world when i heard that. suicide is really a rough thing, vibes to anyone that has thought or had to help someone through it

I was the always the kid getting shat on in middle school. The worst part is they picked on me for my nationality, Canadian. I told the fucks to go hunt and smell like shit somewhere else and I remember I would get home feeling like complete shit. I even considered suicide sometimes when it got so bad that I couldn't take it. And it didn't stop there. I was hammered for playing hockey and lacrosse and its a good thing that I had those teams to back me up. If it wasnt for them, I probably wouldn't be here typing this story on NS. The skiing community also backed me up and on the mountain was the only time when I felt that I was alright and OK just the way I was. I actually am gonna say thanks to anyone on here who has supported me, it really made a difference.

about a year ago nothin was workin out for me...girlfriend left me, got fired from my job, was late on rent so i ended up sleeping in my car eating raw cup of noodles. One night i asked myself is this rely worth it. i thought about everything that i had or still had and decided that life is not that bad...if you rely are thinking about suicede just do the same thing i did... + vibs for anyone who has or had these thoughts..

these threads are all well and good intentions but the reality of the situation is that most of us are not qualified to help out suicidal people. if you know someone who is having suicidal thoughts you need to contact someone who can really help like counselors and doctors. As a rational thinker one would think that telling people are things to live for and you will miss them and you love them would make them not want to commit suicide but the fact of the matter is that depressed or suicidal people DO NOT THINK RATIONALLY. now you wont understand why that is unless you have been in that situation. so really find someone else who can really help. it's pretty much the only way to actually help someone in need.

i agree 100% with you. but i think you partially missed the point of this thread. quote me if im wrong op, but the idea was to send out good vibes to people, and let them know there are people to talk to if they are feeling down/suicidal. and also to let them know there are people going through the same stuff they are.

yeah i know but this is a serious topic and it needs to be said. giving out vibes is all warm and good but again its serious and if anything needs to be done about it it should be professionals. it will save lives.

One of my really good friends committed suicide. He had a mental disorder or something, but yeah he took his life. Then one of my other friend dad found him. He was really cool too. But yeah, I have had a shitty day. Found out my Grandpa had cancer and it isn't curable.

By the end of it I got to thinking of a better way. To just take any money I had or could get, drive across the country hit some other countries just do anything fun. At that point, you were going to be dead leaving you the opportunity to go no regrets for a while.

I don't know if I would ever advice somebody suicidal to do that but for me it made sense. Especially since stress is a huge factor, and the lack of having a reason to worry would lift that burden immensely.

I've been through almost the exact same thing except it was closer to middle school when I was giving this kid a hard time. We came to be pretty good friends and would get together and play music sometimes and one time we just sat down while listening to some slow rock, probably Coldplay or something. He told me how when i would give him a hard time how he felt like he wasn't good enough for society's standards. He had just moved here and the way I treated him he felt like everyone here was like that, we were younger and stuff.

As he told me how I made him feel like this I started to feel worse and worse, the music in the background didn't help too much either. I really felt for him and now he's going through a ton of hard stuff like drug involvement, his parents' divorce etc. I really feel for him and I have no idea why I acted that way.

As you said, it's all in karma's hands at this point

Usually I would try and come back with a smart ass remark, but I don't feel like doing that. The reason I made this thread was to try and get people to help other people out. Yes when I came back from maine late monday night I had a friend call me and tell me he was struggling with suicidal thoughts. That was the inspiration since I've had that happen with many different friends, and seen many people struggling with different problems.

I just felt like to many people live their lives for themselves completely, and disregard anyone's problems or feelings along the way. If people cared more for other people the world would be a better place. that's really the message That this thread was going with, and it seems like most of the people got that.

I figured I would make a thread about something I felt is stupid. I know it's nsg, home of countless stupid threads and I'm a big late night offender myself. I just felt it was something I needed to do.

I appreciate the way people are taking this thread seriously as it was a serious post, and a serious matter. I made this thread because a friend of mine reached out in need right after I got home from a festival in maine for 5 days.

Now completely coincidentally it turns out that I'm in some serious need of some good vibes right now. This all started yesterday night, but I'm in a rough spot, kind of intense. It was kind of some bad luck that left me here but I'm not in the best of shape. I'm hoping it will get better asap as  it just started occurring yesterday. I've decided to skip the all god music fest in west virginia to try to ground myself out and see where I stand. I'm probably going to end up talking to somebody soon but I'm hoping the effects subside and I'm felling better fast. This thread wasn't made about this as I wasn't even thinking about any of this till a day or two after but it just turns out that I'm in need like the many of other people.

I would really appreciate if people could send me some good vibes and help me out. I'll will def post an update to let you know if everything ends up clearing up. As this whole thing happened  suddenly it's completely possible to be feeling full on legit by the weekend, but I juts feel real sketched out right now.

thank you to all those with mature posts in this thread, and to all those that are in need of some good vibes to help you out... remember that me and other people arouond you are sending them your way,
