sandia peak has a tram that takes you to the top of the ski area that is literally in Albuquerque. but the closest ski area worth skiing is probably pajarito in los alamos like an hour and a half, or taos is epic and its like 4 and a half. southern colorado areras arent to far either.
Taos.. 2 hour drive from Albuquerque and its a really legit mountain. I dont think they have a park but the on mountain terrain is worth checkin it out
And if you go to Taos, you might as well make the trek to Wolf Creek, which is a rediculously awesome ski area. There is the ski sandia peak, but that is pretty bad.
Taos is probably the best ski area close enough for a day trip from Albuquerque, last I checked it does have a park, but park is not my thing at all. Pretty darn good place!
Ski Santa Fe is closer, it's 20-25 minutes from downtown Santa Fe, Pajarito is 10 minutes from downtown Los Alamos (open weekends only). Also near Taos is Angel Fire, Red River, and Sipapu.
Southeast of Albuquerque (3-4 hours?) is Ski Apache, closer to El Paso than Albuquerque.
And of course, as others have written, is Sandia. The tram takes you to the top, if you're driving, you can go the back way, east on I-40, then turn north.
fuck that, id much rather ski santa fe than sandia. ive been to paja like 4 times and even the groomers were un skiable, when its bad there its really bad. but ya i probably wouldn't recommend anywhere closer than taos unless you have friends to mess around with. best option is Wolf Creek.
