Time lapse Settings

I've been playing around with the timed snapshot feature. I cant quite seem to get the settings right to the point where it looks really good. What shot interval should I use? 2, 5, 10, 30 seconds? and what frame rate should I use, meaning how fast should it display each picture. Here a few test videos I've come up with. Still doesn't look as good as some I've seen.

10s interval, spot metered exposure, playback 24fps, ~1hour



5s interval, center weight metered exposure, playback 30(ish)fps, ~1/2hour

My suggestion would be to film something with more movement. Also some people just shoot video then speed it up in a video editor. I'm pretty sure the quality would be better doing it that way because the Gopro is HD video and I think it only takes 5 megapixel pictures.

Up the contrast a little so the clouds stand out more. Pretty cool though

it's entirely up to you, but i like to use 2 s to bring out the boiling, shape/texture change in clouds. this speed takes the focus away from from their movement and more on their changes. this video i exported at 12fps
slower stuff like tides use a slower picture setting, this tide one and the sunrise are both every 10s and exported at 24fps



also, on hot, humid days watch out for the inside of the case fogging up if the camera is in the sun. (happened to me, kinda ruined a 3 hour timelapse)
