Im from the east, ride park and have had to pay for myown skis for like 8 or 9 years now.
the most important thing is price, sometimes(mostimes) i will buy skis that are 2 or more seasons old because of better deals.
The second thing I look at, well pretty much the first thing, is the size, I ride anywhere between 170 and 180 so as long as it meets that critera im fine.
the third thing i look at is the core, I need to know what type of wood, like birtch wood is wicked buttery, but snapps easly under my weight. core also lets you know how much the skis will shatter under speed
then i like to know what the sidecut is, I dont like skis that have a small sidecut because they are so rail focused that once the edges get rounded, you cant turn properly
next i try to think of what my friends think of the ski, not if they look cool or not, but if they say they turn like shit, delam, edges rip out easly. or if they enjoy the skis that is a plus
And i will never buy a pair of skis online either, I love going to shops and meeting people who enjoy skiing, And if you buy the skis online, you have no idea if the seller is telling you the truth, like they could be the wrong size, or not showup at all.
