Replying to Making a box - help with hdpe

chardi:
I'm making a box for my backyard, have all the wood, gonna put it together tomorrow. i haven't bought anything for the top yet. i want to use hdpe for the top (if i can't backup is just pvc, probably just make some nice rails or something instead then because mine are beat to shit) found it online, probably could find it somewhere around me if i look around a little bit to save some on shipping. it is crazy expensive though and i don't want to spend that much (built like my entire setup out of scraps) the thinner it is, the cheaper it is but most people drill it in and need extra space to cover up the screws. most people say at least 1/4" or 3/8". that is way too much money for me.

DON'T WANT TO READ? LOOK BELOW.

Here's the question: can i use glue / contact cement to connect 1/16" thick hdpe sheeting to plywood to make a box?
