I need a new backpack

I've had mine since grade 8 and its finally starting to show some wear so i need a new one. It's easy to find just any backpack but I want one that is made in north america. It will be for school and work. i love velcro

if it's for school and you don't have a ton of stuff to carry i would go with the dakine mission. i love mine. if you do have a lot of stuff go with the terminal. for skiing the dakine heli pro is perfect.

Dakine is the most solid bag ive owned. I got one about 4 years ago and its still in good shape.

yo i know this pretty sick brand theyre kinda underground so dont tell anyone else but they are mad sick the company is called dakine really nice bags man

I'm looking at Dakine right now, there's so many choices... I want one that works for school but i can also use for day hikes and a bit of skiing. so basically one that's good all around. Any recomendations out of all the Dakine's?

Filson, duh. Not just a lifetime warrantee, an infinite warrantee. If 100 years from now your great great grandson, having inherited your bag, gets hit by a bus and the zipper breaks, they will give you a new bag. "But J.D.", you cry, "What are the odds this company will be around in 100 years?" To which I reply, "well young grasshopper, they've already made it 114 years, so why not?"

personally i wouldnt try and mix skiing / sport with travel / school.


i have a Heli Pro for little day hikes and skiing.

a TNF Vostok for school and travel.


both are a couple of years old and still look as good as the day i bought them. (and they get used)

get an avalanche back pack to put your stuff into also make sure it has a avalung attatched to it cause you might get stuck in some crowds.

jansport and most bags have a lifetime warranty, it just means the lifetime of the bag itself, not your life time :P which a retailer told me is about like 7 years or something.

i have 2 dakines, heli pro for skiing, and a mission for school. my heli pro zipper broke and i was pretty bummed but HEY! you can send it in for a free replacement! take advantage of the lifetime warranty

Mission Workshop Vandal. thing is a tank. lifetime warranty, made in the USA, I regularly carry a laptop, apc40, and an 30 rack of beer in mine, no problem.

Yeah I'm talking about a warrantee where if your bag is destroyed for any reason (including "my pet cheetah got ahold of it and managed to make a tear in the canvas after assaulting it for three hours) they will just give you a new one. It's because the bags are next to indestructible. I have one that's over 20 years old. I wasn't really serious though, it's not an NS-friendly brand, they've barely changed their product since the 19th century.

I have a filson clays jacket that I love. their Passage Business Pack looks so good. If I need a more professional looking pack, thats definitely going on the list.

I have a Dakine Heli (not Heli Pro) that I'll sell to you for $40Canadian shipped.

The only thing wrong with it is a little piece of a buckle broke off, but the buckling isn't affected whatsoever.

Dude my swiss army backpack has been through hell and back. Seriously I lived out of this backpack and a tent for a summer, I used it all day everyday, fell off a moving boat, slightly melted by a fire run over by a truck, ive fallen while longboarding at top speed with it...shits legit
