The dual display lets you extend your desktop area... Right now mine is 2048x768. That's like having two 1024x768 images right next to eachother. So I can make programs like adobe photoshop and premiere take up two 'panels' which makes things incredibly easy. I can scroll from panel to panel with a mouse, it's just like hooking up another monitor. And, no, it does not 'mirror' what is happening in the first monitor. It's quite awesome for developing movies, images, code, etc. I can watch a dvd in one window and use my ATI Cable TV Tuner in the next. 117 channels of cable is pretty sweet on a flat panel.
No, I am not rich. I work hard all summer to afford this kind of stuff. Maybe if you got off of your ass and learned something and how to market yourself you too could charge $35.00 an hour to do web consulting, web design and system design. It's not that hard, and the money is great.
