cheating the soda machine

so today, i was walking through the good old dorms of gould, and i really wanted a soda, and all i had were 5 dollar bills, and there was this huge group and someone gave me 4 quarters, then he tells me that the machine just gave it to him, he put a 5 in the machine, got the soda, and it gave him the 5 back, and then 4 quarters...then i did it later and the same result, minus the quarters...but its so sick...free sodas...but sometimes it eats ure money i guess...happenned to a kid after they figured it out

back in grade 9 i got free pops everyday. i'd just go to the iga and reach my hand up the 'our compliments' pop machine and grab the pop (you just reach up, feel for the pop than kind of flick it over the thing with two fingers than it just falls down - repeat if greedy). but after a while they got really, really pissed off with us doing it so they put nails in the thing so you can't stick your hand up. sad thing was - we were stealing $.35 pops... good times, good times.

At my school, if someone wants a free pop, all they do is go to the office any say that the vending machine ate their money. It usually only works between blocks, because then it makes sense for the person to have been by themselves and not have a 'witness' lol. Yeah...

or you just take 20 paces back, run at the machine and fly kick it, usually results in many fre sodas. Honestly, telling the office that it ate your money?? Must be a Canadian thing.

ozskier, im a daystudent, which is quite fortunate, the only reason i like gould is that the school year is so short...and i can cheat the soda machine in davidson dorms...YES!

lol, jesus, i grew up my whole life calling it soda... EVERYONE calls it soda around here... i just use the name of the drink normally though... like Coke, or Sprite, or Dr. Pepper

yeah, we smashed open the soda machine at our school once. they brought in ther police and everything, but they couldent put it on anyone because basicly the whole school either took money or soda. some things i'v also done are, if you tear a dolar in the right place it will credit the machine, and then spit it back out. you can also tape a dolar backwards to a dolar going the right way so it credits the first dolar, then hits the seccond and pulls them both back out. and there's always the old spraying salt water in the coin slot to make the machine short circut and shoot out all it's soda and let all its money out the change slot, but that only works on old soda machines.

i think ive figured out the pop 'lingo'. in america if you are from the north or midwest its pop, if you are from the south, its coke...everything is just coke, and anywhere else they call it soda...which just sounds funny

Man we're constantly breaking open our pop machines, they finnaly got pissed att us and took them away for a bit, then Coke got mad at them and they put bars across the glass. But some kids just took a torch from metalworks and tried to weld through, they got caught though.

at my school peeps just jack the cans and everything else from the back of the loading truck when they come every weeek to reffill the machiness. it hiilarious.. cause these guys will just pick up a 24 pack of coke and walk away with no one noticing it..

yeah its SODA. Pop is an older/slang way of saying it.

although club soda, soda, sparkling water, carbonated water, sizzling water, ..those are all the same things.
Soda is referring to coke, dr pepper, those things

last year i had these mini-enrichment coursesat Carleton U.. there was this coke machine right outside of the building so i went to go get one.. i was just messing around and after i put m y money in held the give ur money back button and pushed the coke button repeatedly.. like 5 cokes came down and it gave me my money back.. gotta love that machine, that night i went home with like 20 cokes

Hahah POP!?! weird, you old fashioned throwbacks. Hahaha pop, who says pop. Everyone says soda out here. Pop is that carbonated stuff you get in the glass bottles, novelty items man. We have this kickass machine where when you press the button and kick at the same time you get two sodas. One time I got caught kicking it tho so I got a detention. =( sad.

I think it was originally called soda pop, and some people took the first part, and others took the second word. but It is ganeraly called pop here

I call it soda but everyone in the midwest calls its pop. People in the south, espically Georiga call it coke. No matter what your having, sprite, seven up, orange soda, its still called coke down there. I think soda is the most universal term in the english language though!
